Orchard Lodge & Wolds Restaurant

We were there for a birthday celebration and this restaurant didn’t disappoint. Staff were warm ,friendly, knowledgeable and even smiled a rarity these days. The restaurant was tastefully decorated and cosy, a supersized blackboard is brought to your table and the dishes explained. The starters were amazing, the Amuse Bouche packed full of flavour and we were wowed by the mains, likewise the sweets. Highly recommend you give “Wolds Restaurant at Orchard Lodge” a try.

Lucinda and Andrew are the perfect hosts for this wonderful hotel. We had a very enjoyable 3 night stay. Comfortable room, spotlessly clean of course. Breakfast gorgeous with fresh fruits and local produce including honeys and jams. The refreshing apple juice is made from the apples in the hotel’s orchard. The seating areas outside and the summer house were pleasant locations to enjoy drinks from the very well stocked bar.

My wife and I have enjoyed evening meals here on several occasions. It has been a bucket-list type dream of mine to stay the evening after a sumptuous meal. Our 49th wedding anniversary provided that opportunity. We hadn’t intended to stay and were ill-prepared, however our meal was, as always, phenomenal and the French wine that supported it, superb (not to mention the cocktail beforehand!) I indulged in the lobster, which was prepared and presented so very well. We enquired about a room and were offered a beautiful room overlooking the orchard. It was super clean, well decorated and furnished and spacious. I reminisced about our wonderful wedding day all those years ago and of how very fortunate I have been in life to have found such a wonderful woman to be beside me - however, the thought of the morning’s breakfast kept interrupting (don’t tell my wife) The following morning, after a wonderfully peaceful sleep and a cup of tea, of which there was a plentiful choice, we went down for breakfast. Plenty of cut fresh fruits, hot toast and a full English breakfast made of local produce. I take this opportunity to thank Andrew and Lucinda for creating and maintaining this beautiful and peaceful haven. Top marks to you both, to Michael the amazing chef and to all of your team. Your guests are at the very top of your priorities in every way. We thoroughly recommend Orchard Lodge for outstanding accommodation and Wolds Restaurant for exceptional food. We will be back soon!
