Moonfleet Manor - A Luxury Family Hotel

My wife and three year old wanted a last minute short break and were delighted we found this place. Everything was easy. Every need and want seemed to have been thought about. We didn’t leave the grounds of the hotel. Swimming. Skittles. Soft play, arcades, football, pool and snooker all in the Verandah. Sort of place you’re delighted if the weather is lousy as you have an excuse to nestle down and sit by the fire. Which we did. Staff were thoughtful and friendly, food was great. A fantastic stay, and we look forward to a repeat visit with more family in tow.

This is a family friendly hotel, suitable for all ages, set beside the Fleet Lagoon behind Chesil Beach. It is specially for families with children and has entertainment for all including three pools of various depths to suit all abilities. There is a large games area, The Verandah Activity Hub, and the Four Bears Den offering a two-hour session per nights stay for smaller children. Very comfortable rooms, good, busy breakfasts with as much as you could eat and friendly staff. Plenty of fine public rooms to sit quietly if you want to and a terrace for outdoor food. Highly recommended.

We had great 2 night stay at Moonfleet Manor this week . We travelled as a family to celebrate a special birthday and were impressed by how friendly and helpful all the staff was - especially at the restaurant . This hotel is absolutely perfect for toddlers - my 2 year old twins had the best time - from the veranda , pool and movie room and activities at the crèche - they were entertained the entire time . We have also enjoyed a great massage at the spa and the lovely terrace for cream tea. We booked two rooms as we were travelling with my parents and both rooms were spacious and well appointed . Overall a great place and would definitely come back .

A beautiful hotel in a stunning location. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the breakfast (we ordered freshly cooked from the menu) was very nice indeed. The room we were in was luxurious and clean with a huge bathroom. The sea views from our room were absolutely fantastic - just a shame the weather wasn't brilliant. I'm not usually a fan of hotels that allow dogs due to concerns about cleanliness and noise - but thankfully we didn't encounter any during our stay. Would certainly recommend.

We managed to snap up a 1 night stay here bank holiday weekend as someone else cancelled. We wished we could have stayed longer and asked a couple of times if there were any other cancellations. We made full use of the facilities, which I don't think the website fully represents as there was way more than we expected. The pools, games area, mini golf, escape room, cinema showings, mill and cookie story time. All excellent. The room was fantastic we stayed in Defoe on the detached Fleethouse. It had everything we needed, nice touches like the air con unit, though we didn't need it, it was nice to know for future. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was well appointed. A nice touch was the ability to use their baby monitors so we could enjoy an evening meal in the restaurant, whilst not the best cameras for their night vision it was adequate. We ate all our meals during our stay on site, and enjoyed everything we had. Sandwiches were brilliant during the day, steak in the evening, and the breakfast spread was great. They even did a Sunday roast. Whilst we didn't get to try the pizzas they looked great, and served all day every day available from the pizza shack. The most important part was the service, we were always looked after very well, food came promptly and the staff were on hand when needed and very friendly and polite. They were excellent with our daughter and really made the whole experience more enjoyable. A real credit to the hotel. We can't wait for our return, highly recommend!

My last experience of this place back in 2021 was honesty not very great. The staff were not very accommodating or friendly, the hotel in its self was over-due a makeover, it was just dreary and almost run down. Though my family decided to give it another go as we heard it had recently been refurbished. I'm really glad we did! It has significantly improved. They have definitely the whole atmosphere, the staff were great! Especially a server Tom! Really great. The food had also improved though it did get a bit repetitive in the last days. Would recommend bringing some snack items to have during the day… Another thing you can do is request lobster as a main dish for the evening! The costal walks are beautiful especially in the mornings Overall would definitely recommend a visit if you come down to Dorset! 8/10 (I have also attached some photos of some of the dishes we had, would definitely recommend the Fish & Chips and the Brownie. Also during the August month they have a pizza oven serving Pizza from Mid-day till evening)

Amazing, wonderful, brilliant. We have stayed many times before and each year more investment goes in and the whole experience gets better. This year the Veranda (the kids play area) has had new equipment installed and it remains a unique offering loved by all. The food this year was impressive, with the new menu offering local favourites and other tasty dishes. The rooms were perfect - clean and well-stocked and the staff were all very responsive to requests.

A fabulous location for a family getaway! We went to Moonfleet to celebrate my mother’s birthday and had a fantastic time! The hotel is really geared up for children which meant the adults could relax knowing there was plenty to keep the little ones occupied! I wouldn’t recommend the hotel for those without children or those looking for a quiet getaway! The hotel is in a league of its own for the facilities it has; swimming pool, skittle alley, dino mini golf, den club, film room, play barn and best of all no judgement! We have all been in hotels where we are trying to keep our little ones from causing havoc but here we just didn’t have to worry, the children could be children and run and enjoy the facilities freely! We’ve just spent the weekend at Moonfleet Manor to celebrate my daughter’s 40th birthday. We were a party of 10 with 6 adults and 4 young children. And what a marvellous time we had!! first of all, the staff and the service they provide are fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. I had various things that so wanted to do for my daughter’s birthday and it was all done gladly and with a smile. We were looked after very well. The hotel itself is great. Lots of lounges and log fires. Our rooms were very comfortable and the food was good. The facilities for children are just amazing and do my grandchildren had a super time. They have a huge room called the veranda which has a soft play area for small children, all sorts of games to play, an indoor football pitch and comfy sofas so that adults can have coffee and watch their children play. They also have indoor crazy golf, skittles, swimming pool and more. We will definitely be back!!!
