La Maison George

The property was well maintained and we really enjoyed the stay. We were not expecting such a cool town to explore!! I would highly recommended staying here.

I was looking forward to staying here because of all of the photos. My husband had to work, so I figured he would be able to work in the bar. Well, the bar and restaurant was not opened once our whole entire stay, and we stayed 3 nights. We saw the staff once, luckily it was when we arrived, because we never saw them again. Not even to check out. Our room was cute and comfortable, but it really felts like we were on our own. And having the bar and restaurant closed the whole time was hard because there really isn't much to do or places to eat in the town.

Incredibly disappointed and not worth the money . We stayed two nights and this was worse than an Airbnb but more expensive. First the positive, the rooms are nice. The internet works. The cons. The restaurant and bar were closed and incredibly dirty both days. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO sit at fire place or bar othe tables. No one cleaned our room or brought towels either day. No one even talked to us except when we arrived. Even then, not great. We got here and two women were smoking out front - we didn’t know they worked there because they didn’t say anything or get up while we like walked around a bit aimlessly and the. two men smoking on the patio let me know it was closed. Certainly not a warm welcome with two young kids. Feel bad for anyone staying in rooms above patio (although didn’t seem like anyone was staying here). They knew we were coming because We had emailed in advance that we would be a bit early. The cleaning lady was nice and got started once we got there. We chose this place for the ease of a bar downstairs and eating. We tried several times to find someone to help us and couldn’t both days. Embarrassing. The town is not worth staying in. Only one restaurant is open in town and opens at 7pm - not good for kids. Town is beautiful but it’s a tourist trap. Nothing to do except walk or go to the Anis Tour which takes 15 minutes if you go slow. Stay in semur en auxios or Pouilly-en-Auxois - if you have to stay in this region, otherwise drive past to Dijon beaun Provence etc after a quick walk Around. Would love our money back. Terrible service. Very very quiet region. If you want a convenience store there is a semi-sad grocery store 15 minutes away. Really no where to eat until 7 and even then very limited. The city needs to look into getting some day and breakfast spots open and a convenience store or tabac- or not allow hotels up there. Like no pride from owners or staff at this hotel. Quite sad.

Nice property in a beautiful town.

Dans un charmant village classé, nous avons séjourné dans la Maison George pour des cousinades. Les différents logis sont fonctionnels et décorés avec beaucoup de goût. Le moindre détail est pensé. Chaque logis faisant référence à 1 femme célèbre, on trouve par ex les romans de Colette dans le logis du même nom. Le logement Regine, la terrasse et le bar ont été très apprécié par tous, nous avons pu partager de très bons moments. Seul petit bémol, les nombreux touristes pensant qu'il s'agissait d'un bar rentraient directement. Julia est une personne très agréable, disponible et arrangeante avec qui j'ai pu échanger en amont afin d'organiser notre séjour.
