Brekke Gard Hostel

The hostel is 20 minutes walking from the central station ..sunset was at 4.30 if you returned late there is an area about 500 meter in complete darkness.it doesn't worth the number paid ..no facilities in or around .the reception working from 3 to 8 but they are always not there.the stairs are old and very difficult to go up with a heavy big bag..you can hear people walking all around with the old wood crack Two toilets are few. It was clean

We stayed a night and they decided to have a large party in a marquee next to the cabins and allow the party goers to use our shared toilet! Kept us up to 2am. When we complained the receptionist alexia told us we were annoying and there was nothing wrong. She was very rude. Don’t stay here, it’s just not worth it

I booked this property for two nights initially. And then I asked them the possibility of extending it to three nights. The receptionist said it is possible and asked me to do a payment for extra night when the time of check in. Based on that, I booked my train tickets from Flam to Oslo as well . But when I got there, they told that they do not have any rooms. This is really unprofessional. I didn’t have any other option. I had to cancel my train tickets and book again for a new date. And this ruined my entire vacation.

The view was absolutely amazing - so peaceful after the traumatic experience of MSC cruises (do not book). This hostel was well placed with amazing views, pristine white bed linen and towels, very clean rooms, including the communal lounge/kitchen (fully equipped you only need to bring your own food!) and bathroom (bliss, underfloor heating), I can thoroughly recommend this hostel. I cannot thank you or praise you enough for your extreme kind hospitality. Thank you so much for taking me to the train station, yes I did make it onto the train - beautiful views all the way to Bergen!

Todo es NEFASTO. No merecen estar en una página como Booking recibiendo huéspedes con una falta de profesionalidad y empatía absoluta hacia el viajero. En primer lugar, llegar allí fue una odisea. Está como a 20 minutos del puerto. Cargados con maletas por un camino de cabras...Cuando llegamos allí NO HABIA NADIE y eran las 4 de la tarde. El servicio se limita a un listado que tienen en la puerta de recepción en la que ponen tu nombre y la habitación que te ha tocado. Otro viajecito a la casa donde está la habitación por otro camino de cabras. Llegas a la casa y esta abierta (la puerta no se cierra de noche). Una vez llegamos a la habitación hacía olor a pintura insoportable, no se podía estar. La escalera para subir arriba es de madera muy antigua y peligrosa, especialmente cargando la maleta. La habitación no estaba en buenas condiciones de limpieza, había pelos de anteriores clientes. La salida es a las 10, y al salir tienes que sacar tu ropa de cama y toallas y dejarlas abajo para lavar, sino te cobran extra. La chica de la limpieza es una persona que no está capacitada para estar cara al cliente. Te echa a patadas del alojamiento a las 10 en punto, y ni se te ocurra salir un minuto despues, falta de profesonalidad y empatía absoluta. Dejamos las maletas en un día de calor y preguntamos si podíamos dejar unos productos que necesitaban nevera hasta que volvieramos. A regañadientes nos dejaron y a la vuelta no pudimos ni entrar al baño ni descansar en la salita resguardándonos del sol mientras esperabamos a la salida del tren. Nos echó de malas maneras como a perros, hospitalidad cero con el viajero. El sistema anti incendios no existe, no hay salidas de emergencia, ni detectores de humos, no es seguro. No hay insonorización, oyes a los clientes de al lado a cualquier hora. La cortina de la habitación no es opaca, por la noche entra la luz del sol de medianoche. La habitación no tenía armario ni colgadores ni lugar para dejar las cosas. El baño sin enchufes.

Verblijf in het grote rode huis. 2 persoonskamer met gedeelde badkamer, geen probleem. Er zijn 2 badkamers voor 8 kamers boven. De badkamer mist een trekker en een kastje bijvoorbeeld om je spullen op te zetten. Gezamelijke keuken en eventueel huiskamer waar gebruik van gemaakt kan worden. Geen radio of tv aanwezig. Kamer was schoon, bed erg smal. Kussens zijn plat maar dat komt je in Noorwegen veel tegen is mijn ervaring. Kamer heeft geen haakjes of schapjes, prullenbakje of spiegel op kamer. 2 bedden en een stoel. Huis is zeer orgineel en authentiek en daarmee ook gehorig, dat hoeft geen probleem te zijn. Huis ligt een stukje van de 'receptie' af op een soort van boerderij terrein. Voor mensen die slecht ter been zijn of op leeftijd, is dit verblijf eigenlijk geen optie. Het huis heeft absoluut karakter en ligt prachtig, maar dat kan niet anders in het prachtige Flåm.
