Athol House

Lovely four day break at Athol House, which is beautifully maintained both inside and out. We received a warm welcome from Sam and Diane and assistance taking our luggage up to our room. The room was ideal for our needs; lovely large comfortable bed, great en suite, sofa, TV and plenty of storage space. I particularly liked the bedside lights. Once again, excellent decoration. We had to switch the radiator off as we like it cool and that meant having the fan on most of the time. It was ideal at this time of year but extra cooling might be needed in the warmer months. There is the usual hospitality tray with fresh milk and a bottle of water each day. A small in room fridge would be a welcome addition. The rear of the house has the morning sun and the front, the evening sun. There is all the information you could need, particularly if you are a stranger to the area. Parking is available at the opposite side of the street. It may be trickier at the height of the season. Try to avoid parking under a tree. Our car looked like a replica of Tracy Emin's bedroom in guano form. Breakfasts really are superb, particularly the full English. The fresh farm eggs really are the best I've tasted for many a moon. The bacon is thick and tasty and the cooking is perfect. It is one of the best breakfasts that we have had and I don't make that statement lightly. What a wonderful experience. Our room was a super king size. It was immaculately clean. The bed was so comfy. The breakfast was plate licking delicious. Our hosts were wonderfully helpful and friendly. We can't recommend this guest house highly enough ten stars from us. Thank you Sam and Diane.

We were impressed with the excellent reviews this place had already received, so were really looking forward to staying here. We were certainly not disappointed. Beautiful house, absolutely spotless and fabulous decor. We stayed in Anne and it was a lovely, comfortable room. It has everything you need, with lovely little thoughtful touches to ensure full comfort. Plenty of tea and coffee with fresh milk. The hosts are extremely welcoming. Nothing is too trouble. We were made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was spot on, in fact I would go as far as to say the best we have had. The fruit and yogurt was delicious and the cooked breakfast was fabulous. We definitely be staying again. Can highly recommend 👍👌🤩

Athol House is a lovely B&B. We only booked the night before and luckily for us they had a room available. We stayed in a large room on the first floor which was named Margaret. Super comfy large bed and also a small sofa was in the room. Very clean and we had everything we need. Sam and Diane are brilliant hosts and very welcoming. The hotel is in a good location and only 5 min walk to the seafront, shops, pubs and restaurant's. We spent the day in Filey and went out to restaurant's and pubs later. In the morning our breakfast was delicious 😋. We have never stayed over in Filey before but it was lovely. Thank you Sam and Diane

The best guest house we have stayed in. Spotlessly clean very friendly owners and also a great breakfast .good comfortable beds and.a very quiet room ideally situated for both the sea front or the town centre and a lovely beach to walk on when tide is out will definitely be back and would highly recommend
