Hotel Emmy - Five Elements

It’s our third stay at this lovely hotel. Location is perfect: tranquil yet in the centre of a charming little village. Facilities (rooms, views, pools, sauna, playroom for kids, shuttle to ski-lift), cleanliness, service - all top! Food - varies and delicious! We hope to come back again!

The Hotel is fantastic. Rooms are really nice and clean. Food is delicious. Service is very nice and professional. We were served by Simone and we were very satisfied. I can recommend Hotel Emmy with all my heart.

We have enjoyed the place very much. The rooms are new, spacious and very comfortable. The walk-in closet is a big plus! There is an indoor and outdoor swimming pool and a sauna with a spectacular view! Also, the food was great with superior service.

The hotel is great. The rooms are really modern, nice and clean. The food is delicious. The service is very nice. The swimming pool and relaxation area are very well organized. A great place for a family holiday both in winter and in summer.

What a terrible disappointment!!! We selected this hotel as a family after careful considerations of all the reviews here as well as the facilities and based on our knowledge of staying in similar star hotels in this region. I cannot understand where all these positive reviews came from. The only positive and hence the one star is that the rooms are nice, spacious with great views of the mountain and towns. Biggest frustration was the restaurant service and shuttle bus to the ski lift. There’s a lot of waiting around for both which eats into your day! Whatever system they are using in the restaurant doesn’t work! Orders are taken on an iPad/tablet yet waiters come out confused going from table to table to check if the food is yours. The only waiter that appeared always in control was Simone and actually thank you Simone you’re a lovely person and great at your job! Each morning we can wait up to 20 mins for fried eggs or crepe and on one occasion after 30 mins it never actually arrived! I would recommend simply putting an egg/crepe station in the restaurant which people can just go to and order themselves just like most places we’ve stayed at rather than to be made in the kitchen. The buffet both for breakfast and dinner is very poor for a supposedly 4 star hotel! Not much selection! No strawberries or other fruit! Just melon and pineapple everyday! You get the feeling they are trying to save money! Both fruit are easy to slice to go a long way! Even muffins are halfed rather than give a whole one! Boiled eggs are cut into tiny pieces like served for a baby! At dinner the lights could be dimmed to create a bit of an ambiance. We selected this hotel as it seemed it would be good for families with children however, I would say they have gone too far the other way even for us with young children! Bright lights at dinner like a school canteen with children running through the restaurant with no shoes. The menu is not that of the lovely local food. They are trying to be fancy and miss the mark. We joked the food is good for photographing. We always ate better in the mountains for lunch at a basic Baita. There was no special local evening/event like most places. The playroom can be all out war with children throwing the soft balls and Lego blocks at each other. Other hotels we have stayed at have usually had some sort of supervision or cameras in the playroom. The shuttle bus was so irratic in leaving earlier or later than scheduled and as a result we would get to our kids ski school always late or rushing after also wasting time waiting in the restaurant! The pool too could be a few degrees warmer. One day after a long day skiing we were told the pool was out of order! The final straw! This hotel on paper has all the facilities to be a good 4 star hotel however, I believe the lack of care and the willingness to go for the mass market means it’s not even a 3 star!
