Riad Fes Bab Rcif & Spa

We had wonderful stay in this Riad , great time with lovely people, the food was good the room as well, nice localisation and easy to get . Special shout out to Mustapha for the locking after us and being so sweet and very welcoming . Highly recommend

Perfect location. Lovely helpful staff. Beautiful rooms. Great dining options (breakfasts are excellent and included, dinners are good although not the best you will find in Fes). The location is perfect to wander around the medina or walk out into the city. You can hear the bustle of the crowds outside and the call to prayer from the two adjacent mosques - perfect sense of immersion in Fes. You are near one of the main gates into the medina so it's easy (ok, easier) to find your way back if you get lost. The staff are lovely, very helpful with questions or recommendations, and always so cheerful and kind. Greeted me upon my arrival with mint tea and almond cookies. The breakfasts are very Moroccan, breads and jams, something a bit different every day, enough to keep you going for a few hours. Don't pass on the orange juice, it's so fresh and tasty (this is true anywhere in Morocco). I didn't not try to spa so cannot speak to that. Only complaint - the shower is open to the bathroom, but small, so my bathroom floor was a puddle every time I finished. No curtain or way to avoid.

We stayed at Riad Fes Bab Rcif for 3 nights. It is a 3 star Riad so dont expect 5 star luxury. Location of Riad is right at one of the Medina entrances. Room was clean and comfortable with mini fridge, aircon and safe. It has a lovely rooftop to relax and read. Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. I think Breakfast was plenty with lovely mint tea. Yes, the prayers started around 5am, but this Riad is right close to Medina that has around 300 mosques 🕌 and it is a Muslim country. Short ride by taxi you can go to Royal Palace and other sights.

This was one of the most horrible experiences I've ever had. When my friend and I arrived we were told that the specifications given on the booking site where we chose the accommodation did not apply - we would not find a washing machine, a dryer, ironing facilities, a hair dryer, as the list of room features suggested. When we asked about them we were told that they did not have any of those facilities within the rooms. We complained, and the hotel manager immediately insisted on us cancelling the booking altogether. This was quite a shock, and had never happened to any of us ever before. They offered to do our laundry, but made it very clear that they would charge us for this service. We were very frustrated but decided to stay, only to find out the next day that the management had cancelled our booking. The only reason for doing so and not telling us that I can see is that we were not able anymore to place a bad review on the booking website (but there are others, like this one here). The spa person seemed a bit ashamed of the treatment we were given and said to me he "wanted to see me smile again" and offered to do the laundry for free. I found that very intrusive and out of place and we declined. Anyway, the Riad really has seen better days. The place is filthy, we had several fat cockroaches in the bathroom which were only partially removed by the maid. The breakfast is a disappointment, only bread and a tiny little bit of jam, not the abundance of fresh food like fruit, tomatoes, olives, cucumber, cheese etc. we had in other places, and we were particularly disappointed when we were told that we could not have our breakfast on the roof terrace (as the photos of the Riad would suggest). The only good feature is the location: close to Bab Rcif and the entrance to the souk was nice. Next time in Fes I would happily avoid this Riad, and I strongly suggest you do the same.

The riad was extremely disappointing and did not meet our expectations in any way. There was no correlation between the high level description on the web and the actual site. The rooms were gloomy, dark, dumpy and noisy . After seeing the site, we cancelled our reservation and moved to a more suitable lodging.

We stayed 3 nights and very happy with the value, the central location, the room and atmosphere as well as the terrific staff including Hussan who did everything from lug the baggage, massages and sort out some guiding. Also the young chap overseeing breakfast. Helpful, engaging and cheerful The dinner/ lunch menu includes about a dozen set menu options. Try shish-kebabs and lemon chicken particular good The location is so close to the heart of the medina so easy to dive in and out of the narrow lanes and bustling shops The only downside was the very loud call to prayer at 530 but maybe other rooms don’t have external windows. Also yeh breakfast is only different breads jams and an egg. Perhaps could be diversified. Otherwise a great stay. A
