I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the property was and the friendliness of the staff. My mother is disabled and because our room had too many stairs to get to (upstairs was about 20 steps, then another 20 steps to get to the beds in the room), the owner allowed us to stay in a second room on the ground floor at no extra cost! Staff has difficulty speaking English, but the owners spoke perfect English. The house was recently renovated and all the rooms are comfortable and clean. The hotel is located in a pleasantly quiet area of Ferrara with just a quick walk to downtown. While there, I felt that we had the entire property to ourselves—it helps that there's probably less than 15 rooms in the house and I came during the pandemic—and did not want to leave. The WiFi is fast. The owner also called taxis for us and recommended a wonderful place to eat dinner. There were only a couple downsides to my stay. First, the hotel uses physical keys and it was difficult to lock and unlock the doors to the house. In fact, the passageway lock to my room broke. It was not a big deal, but I'd hope digital keys are installed in the future. Also, the jacuzzi tub in the Presidential Suite was not working or at least I could not figure out how to use it. If you want a pleasant and unique stay in Ferrara, I would highly recommend Villa Hortia della Fasanara.

Excellent location and proximity to city centre and Ferrara attractions. Room was a little cold , otherwise like it !

Very nice aristocratic mansion in a romantic garden. The location is outside the city walls but within easy walking distance to the very center of town. Our room, which seems to have been the main central (honeymoon) room with a balcony to the front, was gigantic and decorated in a modern fashion with good taste and style. The only disadvantage was that the bed is located upstairs directly under the roof, so it got rather hot during the night (admittedly with record temperatures outside during the whole week). Our stay was only for one night so we couldn´t really use all the facilities and options. As we also had to leave early in the morning, we couldn´t try the full breakfast, which looked very nice on the neighbouring tables. All in all a very good value for money.

Otherwise a great place, but - I had to kill five mosquitoes and consequently had a horrible night's sleep. I notice upon arrival in the parking lot that the property is mosquito-ridden; hence, I paid attention not to keep windows open (not so great when it's warm, as there is no AC) - one of the windows had a mosquito net, but I could see a mosquito between the net and the window pane, i.e. on the inside of the net, so I had no confidence in the net's functionality. - Breakfast was so-so, lots of prepackaged things and the driest cornetto I've ever tasted. First cornetto in my life of which I took just one bite.

Una bellissima casa immersa nel verde. A circa 15 minuti dal centro di Ferrara. Stanze molto grandi e comode ( un piccolo consiglio a chi gestisce l edificio …mi raccomando date un occhio alle piccole cose.. perché sono i dettagli che fanno la differenza)comunque se avete bisogno di pace e relax è la location per voi.

Il voto 4 è una media tra il 5, massimo dei voti, per la parte oggettiva relativa alla bellezza ed eleganza della struttura, ed il voto 3 per quella che è stata la mia esperienza assolutamente personale. Ci hanno assegnato una camera molto bella dotata di soppalco sul quel c'era la possibilità di scegliere tra due letti matrimoniali; io purtroppo ho scelto quello dotato di una rete molleggiata che ha reso difficile la notte. Come dicevo però la struttura è molto bella e pulita, sapientemente ristrutturata ed arredata da un capace architetto. Situata a pochi metri dal centro città, immersa in una zona verde che fa di questa struttura un'oasi di relax. Bellissima il giardino d'inverno dove viene servita la colazione. Camera invasa da cimici !!! Quelle che vedete in foto sono solo una parte di quelle che ho trovato nel corso della notte.E ancora peggio è stata la gestione del cliente! “Ci scusiamo ma questo è periodo purtroppo” Questa è stata la risposta ricevuta la mattina seguente quando ho evidenziato il problema . Evitate assolutamente questo posto!

Non mi sono mai espresso fino ad ora con giudizi attraverso questo sito, mi decido però a farlo in onore di un luogo veramente bello e strategico per visitare Ferrara. La villa è immersa nel verde eppure vicinissima al centro della città. Peccato che tanto potenziale del luogo e della struttura (se pur con alcune incongruenze architettoniche), sia completamente rovinato da una gestione del tutto insufficiente e, soprattutto, inadeguata al costo giornaliero. Tolta la premura di due gentili signore slave che si prodigano nel servire una colazione di per sé non all'altezza del millantato tono della casa, il servizio è complessivamente vergognoso. Il servizio in camera pessimo, per quanto riguarda la pulizia del bagno, fornitura e cambio della biancheria. L'erogazione dell'acqua (filiforme quale ci si potrebbe aspettare e ammettere su un'isoletta sperduta ma non a Ferrara) sconsiglia l'uso della doccia peraltro mai toccata dal servizio pulizia. Avendo segnalato tale penuria idrica, data la nostra permanenza di alcuni giorni, mi veniva risposto che già in passato, come fosse una giustificazione, c'era stata segnalazione di un disservizio...e tale è rimasto. L'applique a fianco del letto ostentava una ragnatela d'antiquariato su cui la polvere dei tempi evocava una passamaneria di velluto, evidentissima alla semplice accensione della lampada. Il giardino, bellissimo, poco curato anche in occasione di un evento importante. Concludo esortando la proprietà a provvedere...
