This was our first trip to Denmark, and it was for a wedding. At first, I was very unsure. I wasn't sure how to take the man at the reception. I let the interaction breeze past. It wasn't a terrible interaction. I just didn't know how to take the conversation. On a whole, the staff were lovely and thankfully spoke English. Hi and Thank You was the most I could learn out of our short busy trip. The night before the wedding, I went to the bar with my family and had a lovely conversation with a lady who served us. She told us she studied at Manchester and introduced me if need to a few bottles of Dutch courage if I needed for my best man speech. The breakfast was nice and light. Nothing deep fried and really set the tone for your day in the fresh air beside the fjord. The room was super clean, and as we are talking about the room, sadly, this is where, on a personal level, there were let downs. I'll quickly list them as there are plenty more positives. (Room 20)I paid extra for an upstairs room with a view and balcony area. It was a shared balcony, which is fine. The downside was the conservatory blocked your view while sitting outside your room. And even obscured the sensational view of the Fjord. The best were rock solid, I lay on several other beds as there were plenty of guest I knew, and they did have softer beds. Only 1 super soft pillow and the shower head was a bit broken. All things that you can live with, really. The room was super clean, which is the main thing. The location, beside a fish restaurant, ice cream shop, park for the kids and that amazing view. Along with clean air and a full sense of safety, I would not hesitate to go back. The wedding dinner was held at the hotel. And I was impressed by the quality. I've eaten in France before where standards are high. This was the same. I would love to know how fresh everything was because going by taste, you would think the fish came out the Fjord. The staff made the night go smoothly and were just lovely humans. Again, I'm super grateful they spoke English. On checkout, I had to speak to the same guy, and I had lost that feeling I had on first interaction. All in all, as I strongly believe I was charged more for a view and I love a view I'm gutted it wasn't the best from room 20. The experience and the location were calming and a good break from everyday life in the UK.
