Where do we start... We had an "explorer room", which is code for "cheapest possible". Was still £150, which would buy you a decent room in any good London hotel for a night. The room was last refurbed in 2005 I'd guess. The desk had been polished more times than the Queen's cutlery, and frankly I didn't even want to touch it. The bathroom was only just passable, assuming you kept everything you own away from the surfaces. Don't look too closely at anything or you might think you're in a Butlins chalet. The shower was amusing. Its installed in the middle of the (small) bath, so you cant actually use it without some form of contortion. The bed sheet hasn't been tucked under the mattress and was just left hanging around the whole bed. TV from pre-industrial era, and remote was icky. No sockets next to bed, of course. £10 for two Lemonades in the bar, which at this point is just expected. Merlin have decided that retail price no longer mirrors cost in any way shape or form, and its simply about picking a ridiculous number and charging that. I mean, where else are you going to go for a drink? ..... I suggest home. Merlin are just absolutely milking the daylights out of its customers at this stage. No longer are they even pretending this is either good value, or a good offering, they simply don't care, all about the shareholders baby. I strongly recommend that you don't stay here, come for the day to the park if you really feel the need to stand in queues for 8 hours and only get on 3 rides, or stay in a local hotel, which I'm sure would be better. I don't know this for a fact but i'm guessing it won't be worse.
