"We loved our stay here. The reception staff are so helpful. They put us in touch with a lovely family (Miriam and family) who provide a wonderful taxi service all over the island. They are the best place to go for any advice. Food was very good. But the best part was the amazing views from the dining room which looks out across the swimming pool to Mt Pico. The clouds change by the minute and the sunsets are fabulous. Take your camera. You can sit inside or out. You get the same view from rooms facing the harbour. Highly recommended!"

"Trung tâm Faial là đi bộ vào, nên vị trí hoàn hảo. Bãi đậu xe trên đường luôn đủ sẵn và dù các bảng đá đầu yên tĩnh. Phòng, mình đặt Ermida da Guia có ban công, còn lại để ước ước. Rất nhiều động vật trên mặt đất và tôi hy vọng không được bị kéo vào khách sạn gần nhất hoặc thậm chí tệ hơn, với nhà. Điều đó không thể! Ban công là người Pháp nên chỉ cần một bước vào sâu và do đó không thực sự hữu ích. Cửa sổ không đóng được an toàn nên luôn rời các cửa hàng sắt vì lý do an toàn khi không có. Phòng tắm rất gần và chỉ có hạn chế tới kích thước phòng. Cũng sử dụng quá nhiều bột giặt, hoặc là những bộ rửa mềm vì có mùi khó chịu. Khách khác những phần rất ồn và bếp cộng đồng chảy mùi khó chịu. Không có gợi ý và hình ảnh hứa hơn hắn holding. Hơn nữa, giao tiếp cực kỳ khó chịu, vì email của chủ nhà hoặc quản lý đều đặc biệt viết tiếngโปรตุเกส. Anh sẽ phù hợp, vì tôi chưa giao tiếp theo ngôn ngữ mẹ. "My wife and I spent the first week of May 2026 at the Patio Ecolodge and rode their Faial Island Trail. We are in out late 60's and experienced riders. Prior to arrival, I found the booking and subsequent correspondence to be a smooth process and found the staff to be very responsive to any question. I was pleased to find that they were very flexible and accommodating regarding dates and requests. Upon on arrival at the Faial airport, we were met promptly by a staff member and driven to the lodge. The lodge is multi-building compound on the outskirts of a small village (5-minute walk) in rural setting replete with cow pastures and lovely ocean views. We stayed in one of their apartments and found it to be perfect for our needs. It was clean, comfortable, quiet, in excellent condition and had a marvelous ocean view from the balcony. There was small refrigerator with a little freezer, an induction cook-top and the appropriate pots, pans and utensils. Our room was cleaned daily. There was a small restaurant that served the same buffet breakfast each morning with cold foods and scrambled eggs and bacon. Dinners were served in the same restaurant and were quite good (some excellent). As part of a package, the dinner menu was set, and we did not order from the menu. The bar service was nice with draft beer and a wine selection (drinks for purchase). Additionally, there was a small indoor pool, and spa services were available. My wife had a massage and was hoping for deep tissue. She had the Zen massage and found it a bit too "Zen." The reason we came to the Ecolodge was for the horseback riding, and we were not disappointed. The horses and riding staff are provided by another company that is essentially on the property and works closely with the Ecolodge. We learned the "horse portion" was previously owned by the Ecolodge owner but now is its own business (same with the restaurant). They brought the horses to the lodge on several of the mornings. We would meet at 9 AM to groom and tack the horses. After a ride, we also cared for the horses. On a few days, the horses spent nights in different pastures on different parts of the island, and we were driven back and forth to the horses. This was to accommodate our rides on other sides of the island. The Lusitano horses were fun to ride and were very well-cared for by the staff. The guides were flexible, interested, safety-conscious and full of local information about the island and its history. The rides were a mix of walk, trot, canter and gallop. We found them exhilarating and greatly enjoyed the riding portion of our stay. We were the only riders for the first 2 days but were joined by 2 other experienced riders from Germany who were an enjoyable addition to our adventure. The average riding day was 4-5 hours with time off for a sack lunch of a sandwich, fruit, juice box and a candy bar. There was one longer day when we rode over the top of the caldera.
