Travelodge Exeter M5

There are no lift and it is a challenge if you have large luggage to handle.

Where do I start. Room very basic. No USB sockets. Had to go and buy phone charger. No smart, just a Basic Tv channels. NO comfortable chairs to sit on. Two plastic ones that’s all. No Duvet. Just a sheet. No coffee in the room. Rooms tired and run down. No breakfast or food service restaurant. You Have to walk all the way over to the motorway services. Choices there are KFC BURGER KING OR GREGGS. After a long day driving a decent meal would have been nice. Rather than junk food. Such a shame especially with what we’re charged.

Lovely hotel, excellent customer service from the receptionist at reception on Friday night when I arrived and had issues with the rooms I had booked. The lady on shift before her, she really needs to be nicer to her paying guests. One of my group asked for a place to eat, got answered with a misserable comment. The other lady was lovely and even phoned a taxi for them and recomended places to go. Rooms ok. A lift would be handy espesially with a pram and eldery guests as we had to carry the pram up the stairs.

I don’t think a hotel room could be more basic than this. Positives: the shower was hot and quite powerful - the bed comfortable. Negatives: the walk down to our room was long and smelly, think residential care home, urgh. Two plastic uncomfortable chairs. Three inch wide bedside shelves, wide enough for your phone but no socket other than those on the other side of the room. But worst of all, they allow dogs in the rooms. We weren’t aware of this until we heard yapping from the room opposite. Never again.

Stayed in a Travel Lodge at the Exeter Services! Shocking, not even clearly signposted !! Greeted by a smashing young man Christopher! Mop of curly hair! Lovely guy. But he was let down by TRAVEL LODGE! Our room was freezing 🥶 it smelled unpleasant.The carpet was stained.There was a big stain in the bath.The kettle was so old I was scared to use it. Trying to sleep, the noise above us and around us was not good. The pillows were damp and because the room was so cold we had to get the quilt down and sort the bed out. TRAVEL LODGE really need to up there game and their prices dont match their products on offer! Pull your finger out and start updating all of your hotels sharpish! Make better signage!

Ideal place to stop before entering the beautiful southwest, easy to find although you do get a little noise from the M5 at night but not enough to disturb your sleep, then plenty of options at the service station for an onward journey snack. Great staff

OK for a single night's stopover but no longer. Well situated. Easy to get to. Short drive into town. Quite, despite proximity to motorway. Clean room. No cafe onsite nor nearby. I don't recommend the "packed breakfast" meal option (think budget airlines). Few staff. Free parking (fairly clean). Good place to stay for getting to someplace else.

Good location handy for park n ride to city. Close to services for food etc. Clean and comfortable. No lift.

We had a really great stay! The rooms were lovely and homely. There was a very helpful man ( I think his name was Carl) when we were leaving that was so polite and kind and offered to help me with my bags as he could see I was walking out with children too, thank you! Would definitely stay again!
