I particularly appreciated the possibility of being able to combine the fact of being in the center of the Kasbah, the historic heart of the medina (the tiny Souss lane appears on a 1767 map as it still is today!), in a riad very respectful of the architectural tradition, yet with charm and at the same time great comfort. Hearty and friendly breakfast on the sunny terrace is fantastic, such feelings of rest and comfort! For a private terrace with a view of the harbor dungeons and the ocean, I chose the Suite "Belem" set as a boat's cabin. The view on the old harbor, its fortress protecting from sea's tides, is going to be one of my best souvenir of Essaouira. The staff is so kind, so dedicated to make you feel good, and so is Nathalie, the discrete owner who nevertheless will make sure you don't miss anything. I'm used to come back regularly to Essaouira since over 15 years and I tried many great places already, but I will definitely come back to that riad.

A fuir absolument si vous souhaitez dormir En effet il y a une boîte de nuit dont la terrasse et les platines des DJ’s donnent sur la terrasse du Dar L’ouléma. Musique à fond jusqu’à minimum 1 heure du matin. La musique tape fort dans les chambres. C’est vraiment dommage car le personnel du Dar fait tout pour que l’accueil soit au top. En fait, le propriétaire du Dar est aussi le propriétaire de la boîte de nuit. A trop vouloir gagner quelquefois on perd…
