Club Jandía Princess

We were very surprised by our visit to this lovely hotel, having booked only the week before and reading some of the negative reviews we had a lovely week away. The hotel complex is set over a large area on different levels with very beautiful kept gardens. Not very disability friendly unfortunately, steep paths up from the pool area and beach. Overall this hotel was very good, the rooms are spacious and cleaned daily. Couldn’t fault the food at all, plenty of choice and things cooked fresh. Coffee machines were very slow and always a long queue. We had a very enjoyable week and would definitely return even though it’s a long journey from the airport, an hour in a private transfer. Don’t let the negative reviews put you off!!!! Can only describe this place as the Caribbean of the canaries, amazing beaches and wonderful views.

I like most people have been sceptical about going to stay at the Club Jandia Princess, but I decided that there was only one thing for it and go stay there ourselves. I booked a TUI package for an exceptional price so I knew after reading all the reviews that this would probably be a base and we would eat out. I started the whole process off by emailing the hotel and asking if they could send me a list of the premium branded drinks so that I could look at the prices in case I wanted to pay for a premium branded drink or indeed see if it was worth paying the upgrades to silver or black band , there is no hard sell to do this when you arrive. They were pretty prompt, I asked at the time if I was able to upgrade to a seaview room, but unfortunately they were already full, I appreciated that they were pretty quick in replying and sending the drinks menu through to me. On arrival at the hotel we were given our key and we walked to the adults area in room 5-202 , as we walked up the stairs it looked very tired and look like it needed to have a refurbishment , I felt a little disappointed but we opened the door to the room and it was lovely and spacious, it had a sofa , nice large comfortable bed, lovely big wardrobes with safe in, adequate hangers , it had tea/coffee facilities , a 28 inch TV which was a bit of a shock when I read that it was this size but you soon adjust , a nice big bathroom with a bath and an overhead shower, it had plenty of hot water and the pressure was really good, it had a balcony , it wasn’t a full on seaview but I did have some lovely sunrises and a partial seaview which is what I had asked for which was good enough for me. Back to the drinks package - I wanted to see if it was worthwhile paying £143 for two people for a silver band or £250 for two people for the black band. I have to say that we opted to go with what we were given which was the blue band and local branded drinks, I am more of a G&T girl or Prosecco and My hubbie a wine drinker and we knew we could buy glasses of decent wine for a relatively cheap price , although a couple of times we tried and they didn’t have it available but he did say that the local red wine was ok , after reading that they did not have sparking wine as part of the normal A/I , it looked like you even had to pay for it on the black band, it wasn’t expensive but never the less I winged it and asked for a Caba ( Cava) which is their local sparkling wine anyway, the whole time we were there , we were never refused Cava, so I believe this in included in your blue band. If you ask for an Aperol Spritz, they will say it is chargeable, but if you have Campari instead of Aperol then it is free. It makes it look like you have to pay for sparkling and still water, but in reality they have a machine that you can get both from. There are two empty bottles left in your room for you take to be filled at the drinks machine station. They have Fanta/Pepsi Max/7 Up/Schweppes Tonic Water etc a

I can honestly say this was a perfect holiday, please ignore the negative reviews about this hotel, as you can see I am well travelled. We didn’t book a sea view room but asked for a high floor and got room 3308, you could adequately see the sea from this room, I will add photos. The rooms were cleaned brilliantly by the maids and had fresh towels and bedding. Your room is your base to be honest or is to us and it did the job, a little tired in places, like a little bit of paint, but did the job. Pool areas were beautiful and so peaceful at the bottom adult only pool. We ate breakfast and lunch and the occasional dinner and found absolutely no issues with the food, presented lovely and plenty of choice, fresh juices were my only gripe as they were not the best. We ate most times at La Choza restaurant as the views were stunning. We walked to the beach most days in the late afternoon for a walk and you can walk down and turn left and walk 1.5 mile. If you turn right, you can walk to Jandia centre and Morro Jable, the most beautiful sunset here and bar vesubia has the best prawns! It’s a 1 and a half hour walk to Morro Jable. It’s a beautiful walk and we were lucky to see dolphins. We hired a car for the day, Audi A3, also direct with Avis who brought to the hotel reception, £90 including the petrol we used to travel all the way round the island which took a day, 10-6pm stopping at: Caleta de Fuste Natural Piscina Corralejo Parque Natural Dunas de Corralejo Betancuria Popcorn Beach Playa del Bajo de la Burra Los Molinos Sotavento Morro de la Cruz We also did a day trip to Oasis park and this I can honestly say is well worth a visit just to feed the animals so close up ❤️ We ate out also for a special occasion and if you want an amazing meal {we had fillet steak} Restaurant Coronado is an absolute must!!

My wife and I have just spent a week with you and we would like to thank you for a great time. Your staff were all friendly and helpful, and there were plenty of staff on duty during the check in, so this was quickly and efficiently done. The food was really good, plenty of variety, some of which was freshly cooked to order, there were lots of fish, salads and meats, Italian food, sea food, soups, a great choice of breads, fruit and puddings, also allergies were catered for. There were adult only areas to eat in the main dining room which we thought was a good idea for all those people without children. We had one meal in a speciality restaurant, I chose the cuttle fish, please see the picture, this was very nice too. We particularly enjoyed the atmosphere around the chill out pool with live entertainment and friendly bar staff that you could have a good laugh with. All the pool areas and surrounding gardens were kept clean and tidy. There was entertainment in the main bar every evening and lots of people were up dancing, the atmosphere was really good. It was great to see so many people having fun. We didn’t have to pay a deposit for the safety deposit box or for beach towels, this was appreciated. The rooms were clean, and had refreshments in, we liked that water bottles were provided, and fill up stations were available, and our room had a great view of the beach and was in a quiet location. The beach was really nice too and accessible down a few steps and a ramp.

The hotel is situated very close to a beautiful beach with gorgeous views. We had a sea view room which was lovely. A couple of evenings we got a cab into the town for food which was 10 mins away. The hotel is clean. The weather was absolutely gorgeous for January. The thing that lets this hotel down is some of the staff. Which is a real shame. Some of them are great but the majority are very rude. Which is not acceptable working in the hospitality industry. There was an older lady with glasses, mousey blonde hair with a purple fringe who was the rudest person I have ever met. How she works behind a bar & in the hotel industry is beyond me. She is blatantly rude & definitely lets this hotel down.

3rd trip this year just great! All I can say is I must be on a different holiday from the reviews saying food poor! It’s excellent there is so much choice. We prefer breakfast overlooking the sea at La Chosa and we have eaten there previously for lunch but out of season it’s more a snack lunch there. The main restaurant continues to serve a full select lunchtime. The staff without exception were all lovely. The evening live music was really good too. We love the long expanse of beach and the views. We will return again for some much needed sunshine. We also love going into the local town and recommend the Fuerteventura all day trip with lunch. Really interesting to gain an insight into the history of the Island.
