I stayed here for 5 nights while on a group tour. I wasn't expecting luxury by any means, but I was quite disappointed by my stay. It was very basic, the hotel claims to be 3 stars I would put it at 2. The reception staff were at least very friendly, and the hotel is very centrally located in Esquel so you can walk pretty much anywhere. I got the impression that Esquel is very much a base for either ski or nature trips, the town almost felt Alpine. This hotel did feel a bit like a basic ski lodge. My room was extremely small. It was a twin for just me, but this room is certainly not big enough for 2 people with suitcases. The single beds were very small and not that comfortable, and the sheets had seen better days. They had obviously been laundered, but both the bed sheets and towels had either holes or stains. The bathroom was a bit better, the shower was reasonably large and worked well. There was also a powerful hairdryer. There were a couple of very minor cleaning incidents, such as my room not being serviced at all on one day, and another day my dirty towels had been taken away but clean ones were not provided. These were only minor inconveniences though. One major inconvenience was how hot it was at night. There was a radiator in my room, and it the bathroom, and neither had a knob that I could twist to turn them off. They came on automatically at night, and it got unbearably hot at times. I asked reception whether they could turn just my radiators off and they said it wasn't possible, they did turn the heating down centrally for a couple of nights but it wasn't enough. More people in my group had the same issue, it wasn't just me. The breakfast restaurant was on the 3rd floor, and there were great views of Esquel and the surrounding mountains from there. The offerings were basic but edible, very carb and sweet heavy which seems common in Latin America. There was also fruit salad, scrambled eggs, and some continental items. They would have been fine for a short stay, but after 5 breakfasts it got a bit repetitive. For the majority of the stay the wifi was reasonably good, both in the lobby, my room (not everyone in my group reported the same), and the breakfast restaurant. On the last night and the next morning it cut out almost completely everywhere, no idea why. Overall it was manageable but quite basic, I would probably find somewhere else to stay if I went to Esquel again.
