Acclaim Pine Grove Holiday Park

We stayed in a cabin due to bad weather. The couple at the office were pleasant and helpful. We required a warm and comfortable place after camping out in rain. That's exactly what we got. The cabin was dated, but, it was warm, comfortable and had everything we needed. The park itself is under winter maintenance. Out all day, only required the evenings. Nice people.

The toilets when flushed smell like raw sewage as it uses groundwater it is disgusting. Although the town was lovely the caravan park was run down and basically a dump. They told us that the pool was being renovated however no one was there working on it and it wasn’t under construction or anything so we believe that they take no pride in the maintenance of their park. My family and i agreed that if we ever come back to esperance we should never ever come back to this dump they call a caravan park.

Had power go out two nights in a row. Rubbish not collected during weekend. No dump point. Told there was no code or key required for amenities. Oops locked until 7.30am laundry 3 machines one dryer. Plus a disgusting out of order toilet covered with a piece of wood. Nasty. Now park is not very well maintained. Explains why it was the only park In Esperance that had available spaces

Stayed in powered on-site site. Shower water ran out of door and drainage drain flooded onto grass area. Toilet didn't flush one morning. No light globes inside out side the ensuite. Floor on an angle. Owner very kindly tried to fix the problems but this ensuite needs demolishing. Another 2 guests arrived at 1.30am with a reversing beeper on the campervan that woke the camp. Then proceeded to turn the vehicle at 7am to change positions. Only advantage to caravan park was a great place to discover the Esperance area. Would suggest more maintenance on the property. Replace the ensuite we stayed in.

There are two types of accommodation offerings in this world ... The first is a well maintained establishment, the other is a forgotten hovel, and I'm afraid this venue is very much the latter. Whilst the owners/management seem friendly and welcoming, unfortunately the premises have been let go. They are in critical need of a major upgrade, a thorough cleaning, a new roadway and the development of a regular maintenance schedule. It's fine to get defensive and just say that times have been tough through the COVID lockdowns, but that's no excuse to lose pride in such an investment. A bag of nails, a tin of paint and a couple of cleaning cloths wouldn't brake the bank. Do yourself a favour ... If all of the other accommodation choices in town are booked, just keep driving.

Best wishes to the new caretakers who are super friendly and welcoming. The park needs a general tidy up but we appreciated the pool, clean BBQs and nice hot water in the showers. The park is a little out of the way but has plenty of space and potential.
