Be aware: my reservation was canceled a week prior (the email went to the spam folder and I realized one day before the stay). I made a booking over 4 months ago for a two-night stay. A day prior to arrival, I actually contacted the hotel to inquire about the check-in time. That’s when I got to know that my reservation was cancelled. After multiple phone calls to a third party (booking .com) and to the hotel itself, we managed to know that someone called with a complete name, booking number and PIN number (!) to cancel this reservation. I was baffled cause I was the only one who got all this info and did not make this alleged phone call. I was told at first that the hotel was full and that since my booking was cancelled a week prior, we couldn’t get no money back. While struggling to get another accommodation for 6 people that same day, I was referred to another hotel. After few hours the people at the hotel told me that they could provide, at the same price, a room for 3 people (instead of 2 rooms for 6, as per the original reservation). After loads of back and forth (including telling them that I would resort to a lawyer, if needed) I was refunded in full. Due to the outraged prices we had to stay in Formentera instead of Ibiza as we initially planned, cause the prices were more than triple the amount.
So please be careful with your booking with this unprofessional hotel. Clearly this is a case of hotel using all kind of excuses to kick out earlier bookings that were secured at better rates (also because of the uncertainty of the pandemic and the free movement within states etc.). If you really need to stay here, please write/call them several times to confirm your arrival and make sure they don’t cancel on you last minute, during high season! Good luck!!
