Gite d'Etape Gorges de Ziz

Amazing place that gave us the feeling of being part of the real life of Maroc. Ali was a. very good host and really took care of us. He explained us all of the history and showed us around in the kasba and explained all the plans he has in mind! A must stop for you!

We (family of five) spent three days with Ali and this was the highlight of our ten day trip to Morocco. Ali is so incredibly kind, generous, helpful and his food is delicious. Houses and surroundings are much more beautiful than the pictures show. The rooms are very cozy and all have modern toilets and hot water showers. If I got it right this building is from the 14th century and Ali renovates and restores it bit by bit. Caravans used to pass in the oasis behind the building and the villagers built towers and thick walls around their houses to protect themselves from bandits. Ali gave us a guided tour in the oasis and to an old abandoned village nearby. He also took us to a Berber village in the mountains where he supports a women’s association. It was a beautiful and interesting experience. I can highly recommend a stay here.
