Eriyadu Island Resort

The staffs all friendly, amazing location, delicious foods feel like heaven.

We flew from London to Mali, Maldives, via Qatar. From Mali, we got a speedboat to Eriyadu Island Resort. This was not our usual type of holiday, but we were looking to switch off for a week and unwind. It was amazing - sunshine, sea, warmth, good food, activities, attentive staff and seclusion. Perfect. There are about 50 cabins on the island. So, you’ll not be swamped with crowds. The mix of people we had with us were Brits, Dutch, Germans, and Russians. It was lovely. The island is small, you can literally walk around the island in less than 15 minutes. However, there is plenty to do, or nothing to do … your choice. The island is all inclusive, so there is nothing extra to pay for. There are cocktails and mocktails all day if you want them. The food offering at breakfast, lunch and dinner was very good. No complaints at all. It was nice to try a variety of foods from all over the world. The fish was lovely, the meats were delicious. It wasn’t 5 star dining, but it was a very good selection, perfectly cooked. The beach areas are divine. Snorkelling, body boarding and kayaking (canoeing), the gym are all included free too. You’ll need to get a snorkelling mask from the dive centre, but it is free. You could book some dive lessons or dive time, but these do cost extra. We also had a lovely sunset cruise to try and find some dolphins … sadly, no luck that day, but it was a lovely long boat ride out past other islands. We also had a nice hour long massage at the spa … very welcoming. We booked thru Blue Bay Travel. The price for our 8 day holiday was very good. You could notch things up to a 5 star hotel and food, but you’ll be paying £500 more for a week. This was just perfect. We really enjoyed ourselves. Plenty of rest and beach time, as well as some water activities. A perfect taster holiday to experience the Maldives.

We have just returned from the gorgeous Island of Eriyadu. We spent 10 days there & feel this was the perfect amount of time. From arrival at the airport to farewell from the resort the staff were amazing. Always someone around to answer any questions or inform of any issues. We had a lovely room, 306, which allowed us to walk straight from the room, on to the beach & in the sea. The room was very clean & has everything you need. Taking an extension lead was a good tip as the sockets are not in the easiest of places to get to. You do not need any adapters as all UK 3 pin & also 2 pin for toothbrush chargers & USB were already thought of. The beds are huge & so comfortable, I had some amazing sleep which was very much needed. The restaurant was always clean, tidy & welcoming. The food choices were vast & I never left disappointed. The salad combinations were interesting & all worked, I will be taking some inspiration from the chefs home with me The grill Chef was amazing, especially in the morning with the Omelette order. We were very well looked after by John, he made sure we always had a table & knew where we liked to sit under the ceiling fans if possible. He always had a smile & greeted us so warmly. Special mention also to Rayhan & Noorey, who also made sure we had everything we needed. A great team. Now the best bit, the beach, reef & drop to the ocean!! Wow, I didn't really know what to expect. The only way to describe the reef, is like snorkelling in an actual aquarium. So much marine life, fish of every size & colour swimming all around you. We swam with sharks I did have to remind myself to breath the first time one came up the drop, face first looking at me, they do just swim straight pass you The turtles they are so graceful & we were very lucky to spot a ray on our last swim too. The beach is white sand with lots of tiny hermit crabs, which gave us hours of amusement watching them moving around & making patterns in the sand. All the better watching with a cocktail in your hand too Whilst relaxing on the beach, keep an eye out on the water, as we were treated to a pod of dolphins swimming by Finally, the reason why 4 & not 5 stars is because of the work being done to upgrade the Island. We were told by Blue Bay that this would have none or minimal disruption to our holiday. No heavy machinery & limited hours of work & only the upgrade to the Dive centre. Unfortunately, half way through our holiday this was not the case at all. There are several areas of work going on. One was a few rooms down from us & sometimes the noise did grate on me but I just grabbed my snorkel & took myself off. Then a large digger arrived along with construction material to start on a new jetty. We were told by resort staff that this should be a couple of days but this is still going on as we left & feel it will be like this for quite a while to come. The final 2 days the work started at 8.30am & did not stop until aft
