Koa Kea Resort on Poipu Beach

From the minute we got out of our taxi and were greeted with fresh leis, I knew we were going to love Ko'a Kea. We had a ground level garden view floor with a patio. The bathroom was huge, and the room was spotless. The resort had a beautiful pool with a bar, and there were loungers all over so you can just sit and watch the ocean. Every staff member was top notch. They took care of arranging a taxi for me when I needed to go to Port Allen for an excursion, and also had wonderful people working at the water sports hut to help us with our beach chairs and surfing lessons. Alas, we did not get to dine at Red Salt, as the menu was a tad limited for my vegan/GF travel companion, but we did indulge in the pool bar menu, which was excellent. I cannot recommend this resort enough. It was the perfect balance of beauty, kindness, and peace that we needed. Mahalo.

The staff at the resort were friendly, tentative, and helpful. The resort is beautiful. It has a classic/ modern look to it which we liked. We were able to rent snorkeling gears and walk over to the beaches. We were able to see monk seal and sea turtles. Our son loved spending time in the pool. It's not too big so he felt comfortable going back and forth. They also have washer and dryer, which is great especially when you have kids.

Everything at this resort is 5 stars. We stayed in a partial ocean view room and it was perfect. Every single employee we encountered - from the front desk staff to the valet to the bartenders to housekeepers - was an absolute delight. Truly everyone was so helpful, friendly, and kind. I haven’t ever experienced this level of professionalism and kindness at a hotel! The rooms are spacious, stunning, and updated. They really have thought of everything here — a lei greeting upon check in, free Mai Tai vouchers, a complimentary bottle of chilled wine in the room, and so much more. The pool is so relaxing and the perfect place to spend your afternoon. It is a short walk to Poipu beach as well, which is so convenient. The service is bar none. We already can’t wait to return!!

Warm & welcoming. This boutique hotel has all the amenities without the stress of the crowds. Right on the water, with accessible beaches on either side. Complementary yoga every morning, with very enjoyable food and wonderful cocktails. We highly recommend it

Nice couple locations and quiet. Small property no beach. Pool small w hot tub. Nice breakfast. Outside bar is small but good service. Teslas rental onsite that was handy. Good location for restaurant in short walk or drive distance. Ocean view room 380 is very nice w view of water and surfers. Could use a new mattress but it was acceptable. If you require beach this isn’t the place. If you require no loud kids it is the place. Marriott Beach Club right next door is for kids.

This is the most overpriced motel, if there was any. Frankly, if they weren't paying thousands and thousands of dollars to Chase and Amex to be on their hotel programs, no one would ever book this property. For motel sized small rooms, and the tiniest pool, they charge 700-800 per night. On top of that they charge for parking. They advertise "late checkout when available" but conveniently will say it's not available. Overall I didn't feel like I was saying at a premium property, but felt like a motel.

Quiet and peaceful. Beautiful ocean front resort. Clean and well kept and staff are very nice and friendly. Does not have a huge pool but a large lawn to gather and their Red Salt restaurant is quite good. We have stayed there several times now and love it.

I had the honor to attend Chef Noelani Planas’ Pa’ina Dinner at the Ko’a Kea Resort and it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in Hawaii! The five course dinner party was complete with wine pairings, each perfect in their own way. We were greeted with a glass of champagne and fresh flower lei and were invited to enjoy live music and hula dance performance on the lawn. Dinner soon began. The courses included homemade ricotta with delicious honeycomb and grilled naan, and with this first bite I knew I was in for a treat with the remaining courses. Following this we enjoyed the grilled pear salad, blue crab crusted monchong, braised short rib, and passion fruit crème brûlée. Every single course was absolutely spectacular. The Pa’ina dinner will be a “must do” experience when we return to the Ko’a Kea Resort. In addition to the incredible dinner, the resort itself is stunning. The staff are incredibly kind, and our room was spectacular.

The most welcoming staff and resort I’ve ever been too. My wife and I are blown away by the staff and the resort. The rooms and views are gorgeous. It’s been a wonderful honeymoon!! The breakfast food is amazing, savory and sweet. Dinner is amazing also with burgers and truffle fries along with a wonderful pear salad salad shared. The drinks are amazing also!!
