El Xalli turned out to be the highlight of our trip. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was warm and genuine, the kind of hospitality that immediately puts you at ease. The staff went above and beyond throughout our stay, always greeting us with a smile and happy to help with recommendations or any small request. The room itself was comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. The air-conditioning deserves a special mention, it worked beautifully, keeping things cool and quiet even on the warmest days (and we experienceda unusualheat wave), which made a real difference to how well we rested. It's clear the team takes pride in what they do, and that attention to detail shows in every part of the experience. Whether you're travelling for relaxation or exploring the area, this is a place that genuinely makes you feel looked after. We'd return without hesitation and recommend Hotel El Xalli to anyone after a comfortable, welcoming, and memorable stay.

We enjoyed a truly wonderful stay at El Xalli. The setting was great, easy access to pools, lounging area and bar for snacks and coffee. We were really grateful for the clean air-conditioned apartments, and a huge bonus, breakfast delivered to your door every morning! But above all of this, we want to give a huge shout-out to the staff of El Xalli, who were nothing short of amazing, accommodating, friendly, helpful and really went out of their way for us. Thank you Team El Xalli for making our stay so memorable.

Hotel Xalli was truly a wonderful experience! The place is peaceful, beautiful, and extremely clean. The staff made our stay even more amazing, they were always so helpful and had everything we needed. The area was very close to all the beaches however, not many food options nearby. I definitely recommend Hotel Xalli as it was a huge highlight of our trip. Thank you!!

The hotel was so beautiful. Nice views of the ocean, the rooms were clean, and the breakfast was delcious. Staff was very attentive and friendly. The only thing is that I think they need to have detachable shower heads and the entrance to the hotel is very steep. Otherwise would definitely stay again.

Worst trip ever. Where should I start? First off, uber would not take me all that f the way up the hill. I had to walk up the sweltering hot lava rocks. Then, I opened a tab at the bar and the hotel claimed that I drank almost 63 drinks in 3 days. Which I don’t see how that’s even humanly possible. That would be over 17 drinks per day. I spent most of my days at Surf City. I was not at the hotel long enough for that. They claimed that I ordered pizza in all types of stuff that I never ordered bringing my ending bill for food and drinks to $447. The manager chased my uber down like I had stolen something instead of just calling or texting me. He was blowing his horn at us. Then he came and banged on the window. It was very scary and intimidating. When I questioned the charges since he did not give me an itemized bill, he said that my behavior was not acceptable and that I was very intoxicated and even other guests complained about me. This is weird because neither management or hotel staff brought any of this to my attention until I questioned their ridiculous bill. Why would you continue to serve me drinks if I am so obnoxious and bother other guests. Again, no one told me of any specific incidents and no one said anything to me. I completed my entire stay. The property was nice, but demeaning me because I questioned how is it possible the I ate and drank $447 in three days is ridiculous. Unfortunately this ruined the rest of my stay. I didn’t feel like going anywhere or doing anything. I do not recommend being there. It’s in a nice location for you to get ripped off and there is nothing you can do about it. The rooms were nice, they refused to clean during our stay. The atmosphere was quiet. You will be better off getting a nice Airbnb. I’m highly disappointed. If I could give a negative 100 stars I would. That man was so intimidating and scary that I’m even afraid to leave this review, honestly. No woman should ever be handled that way.

Our 9-day stay at El Xalli was truly lovely. From the very beginning, communication with the staff was seamless and welcoming, even before we arrived. Once there, everyone made us feel right at home with their kindness and attentiveness. Although I didn’t catch everyone’s name, Erick especially stood out—he was responsive, respectful, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. One of our favorite parts was enjoying breakfast in our room each morning. The Desayuno Típico was a standout, the Grand Slam was good, and the Power Smoothie was delicious. They were out of açaí during our visit, so we didn’t get to try the bowls—but that just gives us something to look forward to next time. The housekeeping team did a great job, and we appreciated how well the space was maintained. The views were beautiful, and the pools appeared clean for the most part. The only downside was the presence of red ants around the property. Since we were traveling with a service dog, that was a bit of a concern. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would absolutely return.

El Xalli is addictive! The biggest highlight are the people working there, I don’t know how they could find the most kind, generous, helpful, professional people in El Salvador! They have been incredible with me, helping me with every little as well as big thing! They are quite a new hotel and they are super open to feedback, which is making them better every single day, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ll become the best stay in El Zonte soon. The view from the location is so beautiful you cannot get tired of it, the drinks are the best in the area and they also make a mean Salvadorian breakfast and various snacks. They keep the dorms clean and tidy and they definitely prioritise space and quality over numbers. They even offer yoga and Pilates classes for free for clients. I don’t have enough words to describe how good was my stay, I can just say that I started with one night and then kept extending until I stayed for more than a week! The walk to El Zonte beach is only 20 minutes and uber only $3 and you are tucked away with an amazing view and great people working there. A 100% recommended.

I am a solo, female traveler. I stayed in the shared dorms for 2 nights. Hotel El Xalli is a beautiful, peaceful and clean. The staff is kind and super helpful. The hotel is about a 20 min walk from the beach, however, it is easy to catch a local bus on the road to the other playas. I wish I spent my entire El Tunco/El Zonte stay with El Xalli.

Wonderful, friendly, super accommodating small boutique resort. Amazing staff, food and amenities. Tried to help with anything you need, very clean, relaxing atmosphere.
