Alive Beach House

We were immediately and efficiently welcomed on arrival. The beach is clean with consistent surf. The rooms looked directly upon the beach and the surf and excellent little porches from which we watched the Great Kiskadee making and defending their nest in the coconut palm. Food was excellent and reasonable. The other guests were relaxed and friendly, many were native German speakers. The beds were comfortable, and the surroundings were secure. We will return. Alive Beach House is a cute small hotel with a great location. The personnel is great, very friendly and helpful. Overall, our stay was good; however, there are aspects that probably need improvement. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with great views. The hotel does not provide beach towels, which seems a bit odd since it is a beach hotel. Although the beach side probably does not belong to the property, it would be good if they kept it cleaner of debris so guests could enjoy it more. The pool is nice and a great place to see the sunset. But there are no places were to seat and relax by the pool. Some long chairs would be great! Breakfast is included but there aren't a lot of choices and portions are small. Food in general is average and maybe a bit overpriced. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of local/Nicaraguan choices in the menu, which would be nice to try as a tourist.

The road from Managua to El Transito was rough, especially when it's raining (we almost got stuck in some mud). However, once in El Transito and at the Alive Beach House, you've reached a little piece of paradise. The grounds of the beach house are stunning, it's a small garden right on the beach. There's a great tiny bar and restaurant with a great selection and quality of food and the beach is stunning! I recommend this place to anyone that loves hidden gems.
