Hidden Wave

Very close to the beach and an affordable alternative to hostels or more expensive hotels. I only have a couple small criticisms like needing more paving stones and hooks in the shower. Also never got to meet the owners. Lastly you pay cash when you get there. I assumed I paid ******* when I booked and this led to a big misunderstanding. That was likely Expedia's fault for not alerting me to this.

Classic bait and switch. For starters $60 is high for a room in Guatemala, so I was expecting something nice. The room that they had for me had a mattress on the floor, a fan on the wall and not a stick of furniture. They offered me a better room for an upcharge of $15. It had a bedframe with a shelf on each side that served as a night stand and was air conditioned. 4 units shared an outdoor bathroom that was pretty rough and had a cold water shower. The bathroom sink had a garden spigot coming out of a PVC pipe for a faucet. WiFi does not work in the rooms and you have to be in the common area to use it. One other deception is the first photograph you see shows a really cool thatched roof tower. It belongs to the property next door. There are better places to stay.

We love the beautiful & cozy cabańita :) and so close to the beach! Nice and clen kitchen definitely recommend and will stay at this place again

My bungalow was spacious and comfortable. I liked the veranda, the little window seat and I loved the outdoor shower. The swimming pool was clean and nice. Its very close to the beach and to nice restaurants Would definitely stay there again

We recently got back from a short trip to Guatemala where we stayed a few days at Hidden Wave, and it was such a nice experience. It's cozy and tranquil, and close to shops and restaurants. Not to mention the beach is pretty much right in the backyard! It's a short walk into town, or you can take an inexpensive tuk-tuk. The staff there are super friendly and helpful, and will even teach you how to surf! I've never surfed before and Sarah made it so easy to learn! If you're not feeling like salt water you can always take a dip in the pool instead. There are fresh coconuts to have if you want and hot coffee every morning. We stayed in the Queen Casita, which offers some more space, AC, and a private bathroom, but the Ranchitos are also nice for those who don't need much. It was definitely a relaxing experience and I would definitely recommend staying here.

We were greeted with warm smiles and coffee every morning! Hidden Wave is walking distance to shops, restaurants and bars or tuk tuk's are an inexpensive way to get around town. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway or a peaceful retreat, Hidden Wave is a wonderful choice to disconnect and recharge in a peaceful environment.
