Duli Beach Resort

Just six stand alone rooms and a restaurant right on the beach at the southern end perched under a steep jungle forested hill. A great spot with fantastic views of the curving beach. Rooms are a good size, our with a large king bed. No a/c, fridge or hot water shower as it's off grid but WiFi works well. Sea breezes through your mosquito screen windows cools the room. Breakfast choice is available for 350 pesos, tea or coffee with omelette and toast, french toast and fruit, bacon and egg toasted sandwich etc. Similarly most evening meals are 350 per person, the menu each night isn’t extensive but varied enough and always well prepared and tasty. With beers 100 bottle and a pleasant surprise even a cold bottle of Chilean Savignon for 750, a very welcome change at a great peaceful place with excellent hosts. The sanctuary and the releases of the tiny turtles on the beach were a lovely and valuable feature of the hotel.

Duli Beach Resort offers breathtaking views, comfortable rooms, and attentive staff. Max and Elma, the friendly owners, are so hospitable and has a wealth of knowledge to share on the Philippines. The on-site restaurant serves the best food, and there are plenty of activities, including surf lessons, stand-up paddling, kayaking, etc. Plus, their sea turtle rescue program is commendable!" 🌴🐢🌊

TThe resort is “off the beaten track” and perhaps a 45-minute transfer from the airport. The owners have planning permission for eight bungalows but stick with six as being optimal for the guest experience. The bungalows have screens rather than windows, so you fall asleep to the sound of the waves; each has its own balcony. There is only a small cluster of other buildings on the beach which stretches for about a kilometre, so it’s mostly deserted. The week I was there wasn’t great for swimming due to stronger waves than normal—quite a few people come here to surf--but I still had a great time. Breakfast is included, but I had almost all my lunches and dinners at the resort as the meals are inexpensive and tasty. The special seafood Christmas Eve meal was amazing. It’s an eco-conscious spot with solar power; wifi (via satellite I think) is available for a few hours every day. Very friendly owners and staff. I really recommend this place.

Wow! What an amazing stay, I booked one night here to start my trip and ended up staying an additional night because of how truly beautiful and tranquil it was. The beach is breathtaking and has a very private feel. The staff were all very friendly and attentive to my needs. The grounds are kept groomed and clean. The fact it's off grid makes it even more fun because it's so simple and easy to just lay back and relax. The owners were out of town but that didn't change how perfectly things were managed...Bart did a great job, Kevin was super enjoyable to talk to and the kitchen girls did great, and were fun to watch as they joked and giggled as the worked. the food was all super yummy. To sum it up, everything was perfect for me! It may not be for everyone since some people need there electronics and air conditioning. But if you want beauty and off the beaten path you won't be disappointed. I'll be back for sure : )

Max and Alma's Duli Beach Resort is currently the only lodging on the beach. It is in a beautiful setting, nestled next to the rocks on the south side of the beach. The beach is large, clean, and quiet but the water can be rough (compared with other beaches in the Philippines--not compared to New Jersey!) Duli Beach is a surfer's paradise with a few surfing schools nearby, but it is a bit difficult to get there. The cabins are large and close to the beach. So close, in fact, that the roar of the waves at night can seem deafening at first. We had a king size bed that was comfortable and clean. The cabins are attractive and designed perfectly for the location. Each cabin has its own bathrooms along with a front porch facing the sea. There is no AC but it is not needed as there is a huge screen that makes up the front wall of the cabin, allowing for a cool sea breeze. Privacy is not an issue as they have a full curtain you can close. Wi-Fi is extremely spotty, and we only had it certain times of the day. Some other things points to mention: -The massages were fantastic. The woman who they have is strong and the setting relaxing. -Max and Alma are wonderful hosts and have a lovely family. The staff is friendly and hardworking and keep the entire resort spotless from top to bottom. -There is a trail behind the resort that goes up to a viewpoint--it is short but worth doing. -The menu was small but can change quickly. We were there when the bartender came in holding a fish that was just caught. Max looked at me and said, "Would you like fish for supper tonight?" It was fantastic! -They have a turtle rescue onsite, and we were there to see baby turtles released into the sea 3 out of the 4 nights we stayed there. -Max and Alma arranged for our transportation back to the airport. There are various options from private van to tricycle depending on your budget. If you plan on taking a shared van, make sure that the driver does not drop you off at the intersection of the beach road and the main road--that is still 3.2 kilometers from Duli Beach. Ask him to take you a couple of kilometers down the beach road till the road starts to go up the big hill. The last kilometer or so of that beach road is really bad and most drivers will not want to do it.

The only resort in Duli Beach and one of the best resorts in EL Nido to recharge your energy. Sleep and be awakened by the sounds of the waves which are therapeutic. Had surfing lesson at a reasonable fee. Housekeeping was kept daily, ensuring a tidy place.
