The Spa is very outdated.Trea**ent rooms are painted in browns and greys, with a room that the used for the mud trea**ent (application of a hotpack ,no mud on the skin as expected) in a room reminiscent of a curtained 1960s hospital room.Not a western spa, rather the preference of elderly Spanish ladies.The spa website is decievingly modern looking but the reality is old and tired.Spa reception staff were very friendly but unfortunately this does not make up for the shortcomings.

We stayed over at Balneari Prats for one night on a cycling trip from Olot down to Llefranc and had one of the basic rooms which was clean and comfortable, with a nice balcony view of the pool. The room was a bit dated and the corridor was decorated in geriatric grey, but the older historic part of the building has been refurbished to a higher standard. The hotel website clearly shows the renovated and unrenovated rooms and states that the standard rooms do not have air conditioning. We were perfectly happy with the facilities, enjoyed the pool and gardens and found the staff pleasant and helpful. There is a well equipped secure cycle store where we were able to do some basic maintenance before setting off again. Breakfast and dinner were both good, with a good choice of options.

We stayed in the older less expensive side of the hotel. Room was clean and spacious. Read a lot of negative reviews prior to foing but feel the room was amazing value for money. Hotel grounds and pool are fabulous! Amazing breakfast and lovely helpful staff throughout.

This is a very strange hotel. Lovely pool, staff so friendly. Breakfast ok. But the rooms!! The “standard rooms” are exact replicas of prison cells! We spent one night in one didn’t sleep for a minute. We could hear the person in the room above snoring! Heard when the people either side went to the toilet in the middle of the night. Bathrooms were dirty and beyond. Furniture is tatty and smelly. We asked reception for an upgrade and spent the rest of the nights in a much nicer room, the hotel have had these 2 different types of room for many years. The first prison room will genuinely want to make you kill yourself.

It was very hot during our stay at the Balneari Prats. The pool looked lovely to cool off in, but the pool is fed by a hot spring that is supposed to promote health and longevity. The hotel is actually a spa and you'd often see people in their bathrobes at breakfast. It was charming. I wished we had had time to stay and use the spa.
They had a very nice breakfast buffet and all the staff at the hotel were very nice and accomodating.

Beautiful hotel to relax and rejuvenate. There’s more of the elderly coming here to use the thermal waters properties. The church bells ring every hour and it takes u back in time to a more peaceful era.

What’s not to like about Balneario Prat’s? Good food, nice room, lovely thermal pool, good range of massage and other spa trea**ents, beautifully maintained grounds, relaxed friendly a**osphere, great service….One of the nicest places I’ve stayed, and, because it is quite literally in the centre of Caldes, easy walking access to the charming town. Very relaxing, nourishing break. Can’t recommend it too highly.

After the initial disappoin**ent with the rather worn look of the room, we actually had a very pleasant stay here. But the standard rooms really need an upgrade. They look old and tired and are fairly noisy. The friendly staff, good food & pleasant thermal pool made up for a lot. The prices of the trea**ents at the spa seem fairly high, but you get a lot for your money. However, don't expect any of the modern stuff you might be used to, this is wellness the way it was done in the 70's. The free parking is nice. Overal, I would probably stay here again, but I would consider spending the extra on the superior room
