Coral Cotillo Beach

Hotel reformado pero cómodo, tienes en el entorno todo lo que puedas necesitar: Supermercado, zona de restauración, la playa no es buena la que está enfrente porque la orilla es de roca. Pero a 2 minutos en coche tienes la cala de "La concha" pequeña playa muy cómoda. Los desayunos son normales, la limpieza oknormal y el hotel no tiene actividad. Por lo que es tranquilo no esperes nada de fiesta o marcha. Si consigues un buen precio te lo recomiendo.

From arriving and having an excellent fast check-in experience, this hotel didn't disappoint. Rooms are decent size with smallish balcony overlooking the central area of the pool and sunbeds also the pool bar. Hotel is kept immaculate by the staff who are pleasant and greet you warmly every time. Breakfast is plentiful and we never had any queuing. Coffee machines are a bit slow but coffee is good. The only gripe was a coffee machine instead of a kettle, I like my cup of tea, water wasn't quite hot enough for that.

Fabulous hotel. Spotlessly clean rooms, dining and main area. Friendly helpful staff, lovely breakfast. There is building work outside but we didn't find it intrusive at all. Would definitely recommend and we will be back next year. El Cotillo is beautiful. Beaches stunning and lovely restaurants.

Great hotel, friendly staff, good choice of food for breakfast, only ate there once in the evening and the buffet, although not exceptional, was good and reasonably priced. Good location - an easy walk to the beach or one of the many restaurants (more than I expected in a small town). Yes, there is building work going on on two plots between the hotel and the sea, but if you have a first floor room with a pool view, i.e. with your balcony facing the large inner area where the pool and pool bar are situated, it really is not intrusive. A crane being operated from ground level doesn't make any real noise. Another review mentioned the lack of a plug to be able to use the bath. I guess that may be deliberate to limit water consumption, but that reviewer wasn't particularly resourceful. We asked at reception and they immediately opened a drawer and gave us one, no bother. There is a row of shops including a HiperDino Express supermarket in the same block as the hotel, plus a really good ice cream shop, so it was easy to get supplies of lunch time food, beer, wine etc to consume on the beach or on our balcony to avoid the pool bar prices (although we did use that bar when using the pool). There is also an excellent bakery a few hundred yards away where you can get a good range of sandwiches, quiche, toasties either to take away or eat in. I would also recommend the make-on-demand fruit and vegetable juicing unit in there - lovely healthy blends. Back to the hotel: excellent sunbeds (you could raise not just the back but also two thirds down could be raised to give support when sitting), and there were even a number of full double bed sized units with cushions, for no extra charge, and there was never any pressure on sunbed availability while we were there. Our room was spotless and the maid service was excellent. The only minor quibble we experienced was that the "double bed" was actually two singles together. Thinking back, maybe I should have checked to see if the castors were lockable, but it did give us a laugh when the beds moved apart and one of nearly went down the middle... perhaps a couple of short bungees to pull the castor wheel units together would have solved that one! Overall, very happy with our stay.

Staying here at the moment and agree with the reviews of unhelpful staff this seems to be the consensus of other guests we have spoken to. The hotel advertises a rooftop restaurant, show bar, mini club and other facilities that are all CLOSED. Not even basic drinking water anywhere. We are really angry that this hotel is getting away with false advertising. It is clean and peaceful and the pool area superb

A lovely hotel- very clean and spacious. Friendly staff. A great base for a healthy and sporty holiday. Nice gym and always lots of healthy options for breakfast and dinner. A great place if you want a quieter holiday away from night life. Rooms were very nice and spotless. The pool area was also nice and you could easily spend a day there if this is what you enjoy. The gym had most things you need for a decent work out. There is also a small football pitch, outdoor gym area and climbing wall. There really was nothing negative about this hotel.

Excellent relaxing time at Hotel Coral Cotillo Beach, we had a one week half board stay as a package with Jet2. The hotel had a change of management in 2019 and the new operators are keen to give clients a good experience. The hotel and rooms are kept immaculate by a small hard working army of cleaners. The buffet break fast and evening meals were very good with a wide selection of dishes. Easy to eat very healthily with a separate section for vegetarian and gluten free options. The heated pool and surrounding patio areas were kept very clean and pool towels are available to rent from reception at 1 Euro per day plus deposit. Our room was very comfortable with the five main British TV channels available. The coffee machine supplied uses coffee cartridges which are replenished each day. We had a room with an adjoining door to the room next door and the sound transmission was noticeable, we could hear the couples conversation next door. The safe deposit box in the room required a 15 Euro fee, shame its not free like most hotels we have used. There is a small supermarket built into the hotel site accessed outside and has a good supply of everyday items. We would recommend going half board as there are not that many restaurants outside of the hotel as El Cottilo is a small quiet town, we did go in the winter season so more may be open later in the year. the beach immediately in front of the hotel is rocky and not suitable for bathing, but if you walk 10 minutes north out of the town limits there is a lovely family safe beach in a small cove with lifeguard, toilets and a lovely beach bar serving snacks. As an additional note, El Cottilo is a 35 min drive from the airport, most tour operators drop at other resorts en route, the coach transfer can be lengthy, ours was 1hr 40mins on arrival and just short of 2 hours on return. Jet2 do offer direct transfers at an additional cost, we would opt for that as after a 4 hour flight, another nearly 2 hours coach ride leaves you feeling chair shaped.
