Cabañas Alechen

A perfect stay, we couldn’t ask for more! We had a fantastic stay at Cabanas Alechen. The property was clean, comfortable, well equipped and a lot more spacious than the listing photos. It felt very homely and we loved the cabin we were in. Alejandro and Eduardo were great hosts and nothing was too much. We also enjoyed the breakfast provided with homemade cakes and breads. We wished we stayed longer and look forward to coming back one day!

Alejandro and Eduardo were fantastic hosts and made us feel incredibly welcome. The cabin is very charming and is walking distance to the town, with an abundance of restaurants and shops. Alejandro makes a lovely breakfast and went out of his way to accommodate our dietary restrictions. This was by far our most charming and accommodating stay in Argentina. The personal touch was so appreciated - they sat down with us and spent time explaining things and even drove us through town initially to get us acquainted. A fantastic stay !

This is an excellent place to stay in Calafate. The cabanas overlook lake Argentina and the Southern Andes and are just outside the main town so nice and quiet but only a 20 minute walk to the centre. If you don’t fancy the walk then taxis are only 2 dollars and easy to get. Our cabana was warm and secure largely wood built and beautifully appointed. It is in the ‘duplex’ style with the lounge, kitchen and bathroom downstairs and the bedroom upstairs. The hosts, Alejandro and Eduardo were terrific. They were friendly, helpful and easy to communicate with and gave us plenty of local information both before and during our visit helping us arrange trips and visits and giving us what turned out to be great advice on eating and drinking and also gave us the best ‘blue’ exchange rate we had during our entire holiday in Argentina. Breakfast was very nice and included bread and cakes and preserves made by the hosts. I would absolutely recommend this accommodation and would not hesitate to return. Thanks Guys. An amazing way to be introduced to Patagonia! We stayed at Cabanas Alechen our first nights, and we were thrilled at the beautiful flowers, cozy wooden cabin, and homemade breads and fresh juice for breakfast! What amazing hosts. Staying at the cabin made a fantastic start to our Patagonian adventure - highly recommended!

We had a great stay at Alejandro and Eduardo’s cabin. They provided cute touches including a flag outside our cabin from our country, excellent breakfast and even a car ride to the bus station for our bus to El Chalten. They gave great restaurant recommendations and the Cabin is only a short walk into town. Would highly recommend a stay at Cabañas Alechen!

The property is unique and not a stale, sterile hotel room. Everything was perfectly suited for my stay and the hosts were wonderful! It is a little bit off the beaten path but everything is within walking distance and the major tour companies are familiar with the property for easy pickup and dropoff. I'd definitely stay again!
