Nkuhlu Tented Camp

We were absolutely delighted with our stay at Nkulu. The location is simply stunning, and the staff were truly exceptional — kind, attentive, and always helpful. Everything was perfectly organized, and we felt very well taken care of. We’ll definitely recommend Nkulu to our friends and family!

Nkuhlu is not a SANParks camp but a privately run camp next to the Nkuhlu picnic site. The tents are new, extremely well-equipped and we loved our stay here! The bed was super comfortable. The bathroom / dressing room area is equipped with a large shower, ample space for clothing, a separate toilet and a vanity area. There’s also a full-length mirror! The kitchenette is really well-equipped and even has a microwave oven. A gas braai is provided on the patio, as well as a gas hob inside. There’s a full-size fridge too. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Part of their turn-down service is to set the table so that it’s ready when you return from your drive - a great idea! This is an unfenced camp which we prefer - we had a hyena right on our doorstep one evening. If you want to leave your tent area after dark, an armed ranger is on hand to accompany you. It’s a self-catering camp (which we prefer) and it’s fully serviced. (There is a SANParks shop and restaurant/coffee shop at the picnic site but it closes at 16h00.) We loved it here and will be back!

This was our second visit to Nkuhlu for our wedding anniversary. We absolutely loved it again, exceptional, luxury, spacious and clean. Very comfortable bed. Mosquito nets around the bed every night, and the table set for us. The staff are all lovely, friendly & kind. The ranger called us over the radio if there was anything in camp, we saw Hyena and Serval. As well as seeing Kudu, elephant over the river, lots of other small buck, and a very large Baboon on our patio😬) The gas braai, chairs and kitchenette are all sufficient and make for a great stay. Thankyou so much for making our 29th anniversary memorable.

This beautiful camp is located in one of the best areas of the Kruger park, right on the river and by the picnic site. The tents are very comfortable, new, very clean and those by the river, with a wonderful view. There is a kitchenette, an outdoor Weber grill, furnished terrace and a spacious bathroom. The downside is that you hear the noise from your neighbours. During our stay our neighbours on one side of the tent were quite loud at night and using flash lights all over the perimeter of the tent, which was rather disturbing.

A very comfortable tented camp in a wonderful location on the Sabie River. Our river view tent was spacious, clean and well equipped. The outside deck with braii was perfect.The team were excellent.. friendly and helpful. We certainly plan to return.
