Le Hameau d'Eguisheim - Chambres d'hôtes & Gîtes

We made an excellent choice staying here for 3 nights while we explored the Alsace. Eguisheim is a beautiful town and small enough to walk everywhere. Le Hameau was very easy to find and positioned in the center of town. The front desk was very kind and very helpful (particularly when we parked our car in the wrong lot and caught the attention of the local police.) A story for another time, but our friends at Le Hameau kindly sorted it out with the officials until we were able to correct our mistake. THANK YOU! The rooms were very comfortable, well appointed, quiet, and quite large. We also had easy access to a free washer and dryer on site. The breakfast was yummy and loaded with lovely cheeses, jams, and eggs upon request. The bike rental was 30 seconds away on foot. I would definitely return to this property next time we are in the Alsace region.

We stayed in the two bedroom Gite which was right at the top of the building. We had an open planned lounge, diner and kitchen. There was a bathroom with a bath tub and shower in the bath tub. The apartment was decorated really nicely and the beds were very comfortable. Lots of space for the family of 4. The communal guest area also had a washer and dryer - if you needed to do laundry, an honesty bar with soft drinks, water and beers and wine, coffee making facilities etc. There were a few tables and chairs on the terrace to enjoy the Summer weather with your drinks. Which I thought was great. The breakfasts were good - mostly continental style with eggs to order. The B&B is located in Eguisheim which is a charming village and the inspiration behind the animators at Beauty And the Beast as Belle's village. I can see why as it is full of charm. The B&B also has a wine tasting room attached and we can recommend doing that. The wine is tasty.

The hotel is inside the pedestrian only area that can be entered to unload luggage and check in. We were given a parking pass and parked in a lot a five minutes walk away. As the owners own a winery, we were given a welcome glass of wine. Being guests, the wine tastings were free too. Our room was large and well maintained. The hotel also had a terrace to sit and have a drink. There was also a communal room with a refrigerator with drinks for purchase as well as a washer and dryer that were free to use. Emeline was extremely friendly and helpful.

The location in the middle of the village is excellent even though you have to park on the outside of the town. The bedrooms are spacious and well appointed and their wine is delicious. BUT, this is not a B&B! I consider it more like a hotel. We've never met nor seen the owners of the property. The welcome and the breakfast are done by staff. We needed to leave early and asked if we could have breakfast at 7:45am instead of 8am and it was like we were asking for the moon... Breakfast being served as a buffet, they did not even propose to prepare a bundle to go.

Einfach perfekt ! Es fehlte an nichts ! Tolle Gastgeber. Das Zummer und Badezimmer absolut geschmackvoll und praktisch eingerichtet. Am Morgen stand ein romantischer Picknickkorb vor dem Zimmer. Abends kann man im eigenen Restaurant vorzüglich Nachtessen. Wir kommen wieder.

Per la ns Ultima tappa in Alsazia ho voluto pernottare in questo borgo con la speranza di vedere il mattino presto almeno una cicogna dei tre nidi esistenti nella piazzetta Albergo meraviglioso all’interno di un cortile con al piano strada una cantina per la vendita dei vini e degustazione, al piano superiore lungo un loggiato le camere ed un terrazzo. Camera di ampia metratura, carinissima ma soprattutto pulitissima, senza aria condizionata ma con un ventilatore ( pur essendo un agosto torrido era comunque fresca). Colazione servita nella ex cantina, deliziosa, come la colazione sia dolce che salata. Due calici di vino come benvenuto sono stati la ciliegina sulla torta. Personale gentilissimo, ed in Francia non è poco. Ah, le cicogne le ho viste… TRE 😉
