I have heard so many good things about here , so I came and so so disappointed meal in 5 mins chips cold an gravy just warm, the pie omg still feel sick when think of it , loads as mash ( smash ) I no the difference and tiny bit of mince and over loaded with mash , and comes with chips that’s when you the chef has no ideal, fresh veg mmmm maybe have with the microwave heated up chuck cheese on !!! So bad was dreadful.

We thought we’d try this place since it opened again.. my god I wish I didn’t. The food was absolutely crap for the price it all was.. I ordered a ribs and chicken and chips. £19.50!!! Thinking it would come with a decent amount.. no. Littlest bit of ribs and the smallest piece of chicken and you get about 6 bloody chips. My mum she ordered a steak sandwich. Nearly 10 pound and came with about 2 little pieces of steak on the sandwich. Not good at all! Her and my auntie ordered home made chips. They brought out freezer ones. We asked if they could add atleast a little bit more steak on the sandwich. The chef said no?! Again wow great service. To then have a waitress come in and keep staring at us I’m guessing cause we complained. Again great service! we also asked for the manager. That didn’t happen. And then tried charging us extra for a side of 6 chips. Won’t be attending again! Prices are unbelievable for what you get!

Excellent stay, the only issue we had during our stay was that the room was incredibly hot! Whilst we can appreciate the hotel cannot control the weather, a fan or something similar would have helped. It was unbearably warm in the room, unlike anywhere else in the hotel. The hotel was clean, had wonderful facilities, and the staff were excellent! We had a few drinks at the bar before heading out for the evening, and the late-night entrance was easy and well-lit. The breakfast that was included was of a superb standard, and had a huge variety of choices and dietary needs. Overall, I think it is well worth staying here, the parking was great and it is not too far away from anything, but if it is warm, definitely bring a fan!

Booked a 90th birthday party for all the family. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful from the initial booking to the day of the party. Nothing was too much trouble, the food was excellent, and we had a room to ourselves that was set out beautifully! Thank you everyone for making this a very enjoyable special occasion!

I got a very warm welcome and enjoyed staying at this place. It’s had a refurbishment I understand my room number 16 at the top was very smart and had a new feel to it. The Bathroom in particular was exceptional and a lovely big shower. I had food which is goodand very accommodating staff. I will definitely stay here again.

We visited as a couple near Christmas time. This place has recently been redecorated and has some serious improvements, the place is amazing to visit. The service definitely needs some work, the staff seemed slightly disorganised and ‘flappy’. We ordered a starter of bread, oils, olives and feta, however when this came we were without our olives and had to explain a few times to the staff that on the menu they do not offer this selection without olives. It was quite confusing and took some talking to explain the issue. The olives eventually came by the time we finished everything else. My husband had the lodge stack which was a good standard burger. I ordered the mussels which were okay but the sauce was far too salty and needed cream. My dish had obviously been left under the heat lamp as the mussels had started to crisp and the bread was as hard as a brick. Again the service was friendly but slow. We ordered one dessert and a coffee, the coffee was quick but we had to wait nearly 15 minutes for a sundae. The food only needs slightly improvement but the service made us feel slightly nervous that we’d be waiting some time for some simple orders. We will be visiting again and can appreciate this is a new establishment which has only recently opened.
