Appledew Guesthouse

I was robbed while asleep in my locked room at Appledew Guest House. My phone was stolen during the night, and security footage confirmed that no one entered the premises from the outside, which makes me seriously question who had access to my room. Even worse, I later found out that a similar robbery had occurred just a month before, something the guest house admitted when they printed a copy of an email they sent to another victim. Yet at no point was I warned or advised to be careful.. I’ve received no compensation, no accountability, and frankly, no real help. I’ve stayed at Appledew many times over the years, but after this experience, I will never return. I did not pay to be robbed in my sleep. Safety and basic care were completely lacking. You’re on your own here — literally.

Standerton has some questionable accommodation options and Appledew is probably one of the better guest houses with comfortable beds, clean units, spacious rooms and well located.

Clean rooms and excellent service. The only problems are the potholes in the street leading to the guest house

The room was exceptionally clean, and the service from the restuarant was excellent. Would come back to stay at the property

We had a fabulous stay - even though for work, at the Appledew Guest House. The staff were extremely accommodating and the food was excellent

At my arrival there got confused as to where I must go ,Finally saw a door from the outside written push.Got keys then I was directed to the room ,Imagine is my 1st time but directed! Got to the room ,no tea ,not coffee ,this is sad. When I left still got confused with exactly where I should drop the keys, I read somewhere that I must drop them somewhere ,This simply someone can just care and explain
