Maddens on Gull Lake

The resort is absolutely beautiful. The packages offered are slightly deceptive. Caution with cancelation policy even at 6 months out. If you make an error, they will not genuinely attempt to assist or refund you even 6 months out from the stay. I accidentally booked an extra room. Realized it 6 months before the stay. Disappointed, as the staff seemed quite antagonistic rather than helpful.

Housekeeping wasn't the best. However, front desk went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. We will certainly return and recommend Gladdens to anyone!

Outdoor paradise! Multiple golf courses both on the property and near buy. Fishing of course, plus many outdoor activities are available. The scenery is gorgeous. Many type of accommodations are available. Will come back again.

Beautiful setting but in dire need of upkeep. We stayed in a cabin on the Wilson bay side and it was run down and musty. It's been used hard. Plus it was so dark, the lighting in the rooms is very poor if there is no sunlight. The ac units are old and very loud. The staff was nice.

Our accommodations were good. Nice room and accurate description. I was really disappointed with the hot tubs. The outdoor hot tub was not very clean and the indoor one was COLD. I talked to the desk about this TWICE and nothing changed for the whole time we were there—5 days! Unacceptable.

We spent five nights in a two BR cottage on Wilson Bay. The buildings are old, but to us it wasn’t a big deal. There is so much to do here. I definitely recommend getting the recreation pass, which is $30 per person for the whole stay. You get free bike, kayak and paddle board rentals, and free green fees on the 9-hole par three golf course. There are nice tennis, pickle ball, sand volleyball, croquet and bocce ball courts. The grass on croquet and bocce ball courts is very well Maintained. You can get all needed equipments there. They serve pizza and salads right there, which is great. The beaches are great. We loved the staff at the marina. Wake boarding was amazing. The instructors, Amanda and Matt were very professional and friendly and did everything they could to make sure our 12 year old could surf. The lake is really big. I played the East golf course, which is wide open and was fun to play. The green fees, cart and rentals are very reasonable for people who stay at Maddens . We ate at the Mission Point one night. The food was ok and the service could have been better. The views were nice though. The food and service at the Fairways was much better. We ate there twice. I wish they had better beer selection. Overall, everyone who worked there was very professional and helpful. We would definitely go back.

The amenities( pools, game rooms, outdoor activities) keeps us coming back. Great place to celebrate the 4th. Room was in need of some love. Screens ripped, cobwebs, and dirty carpet. Furniture was in rough shape. Deck needs a redo. My impression was they have too much property to manage with too few staff. We will return because it is such a fun place to vacation but be prepared for more of a motel 6 experience than a luxury resort.

Accommodations are great for a group. Fun activities as well. Classic golf course is in great shape. East course this year is in terrible shape. Had to putt around numerous ant hill mounds. Would play elsewhere.

Our experience at Madden's over the Memorial Day weekend was pretty good, except that the sink in the bathroom was clogged when we used it in the evening. We called Customer Service that night and told staff about the problem. It was fixed pretty soon. So we're happy.
