The Old Railway Station

Having previously stayed at the Old Petworth Railway Station several times and seeing the Princess Ena under restoration, we were keen to try it out once opened, so booked to go as a party of 5 for my father in law's birthday. We had such a lovely evening. The carriage has been beautifully restored. We were taken to our seats and the two servers were professional and friendly throughout the evening. The food was amazing. Classy, but not overly fussy, which is just what we like. They were very accommodating, fitting us onto a table for 5 and providing a separate small table for his presents. We would definitely recommend it and will be back. Thank you very much.

Delicious afternoon tea in interesting and quirky surroundings. Loved the railway memorabilia. Friendly people, good service. We hope to go back.

Amazing experience. I booked a Pullman carriage for the night to celebrate our wedding anniversary what an amazing experience sleeping in the carriage, dining in the Ena restaurant carriage. The room was a great size with a full bathroom which looked like it has just been refurbished. Staff was good especially Kit and the young lady who was working her first night ( sorry forgot her name) service and food was outstanding. I have been on the British Pullman and it felt like we where dining on the train again. Great find thank you GMB TV as I wouldn't have found this without you showing it.

We were recommended to visit by a long time friend and boy, it did not disappoint. Our 'room' in Montana 3 Pullman Carriage, was beautiful - clean, quiet and comfortable. The 'new' dining car, Princess Ena, was sumptuous, and we were warmly greeted by our Waiter/Steward - I'm not sure what to call him - Kit, who was exceptionally accommodating and helpful. "Gluten Intolerant? not a problem, I'll speak with the Chef" The food was exceptional, and was delivered in a well practised manner, under a silver cloche, and was beautifully presented. He was ably assisted by the lovely, Jennie, who, we later found out, was one of the proprietors. Breakfast was taken in what was the station waiting room, served by a very capable waitress and delivered hot, tasty and in time. All the staff, were friendly, efficient and suitably attired. We even managed to have a friendly chat with Blair, the driving force and Proprietor, who exuded passion The whole experience was magical, and I would thoroughly recommend you visit.

We had a fabulous overnight stay with evening meal here recently. Our room (in an old Pullman carriage) was luxurious and perfectly styled. Everything was spotlessly clean and in the bathroom were lovely soft towels and very nice toiletries. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room also. Our evening meal (served in another luxuriously decorated railway carriage) was absolutely delicious, the service impeccable. We were lucky to have beautiful weather and were able to sit out on the "platform" to have our wonderful breakfast the next morning. We cannot fault our stay here and would thoroughly recommend it as a special treat!

Step back in time and remember how comfortable luxury trains were. There are 4 ex- Pullman carriages - each one divided into 2 accommodations. There is also a Pullman dining car serving dinners in the old style further down the platform. The cars are very comfortable with tastefully appointed furnishing. The on suite is enormous with a large bath and shower. If you wish, you can take a cream tea served on the station platform overlooking the garden where the tracks used to be . I particularly enjoyed the breakfast served in the old waiting room. The room is styled just as it was in the old days - with the old brass lamps on the wall and quiet ambient music in the back ground. Fabulous - and you are not even waiting for a train.
