Sadly I cannot recommend this place at all due to a serious mold issue in our room, not spotted until the last day of our trip. Could be many rooms like this. This is not safe for life

For £115 a night found the room to be very shabby , damp and mould round the windows . Shower was over the bath and water took ages to get hot- the rooms were very cold. There was a locked connecting door to another room which we could hear every thing going on and what they were saying.

After a very early ferry start of 2.15 am in the morning then a 4 hour crossing from the Uk arriving at the Hotel around 6.30pm I was totally impressed by the desk staff who gave me my room key because it was ready to go and this enabled me to shower and change and go for a 7am breakfast before going to bed for a few hours so as not to miss too much of my mini break in the Isle of Man. This is the 3rd time I have used this hotel and will continue to use it, so do all my family when they visit the island.

What a sad hotel this is. The owners should hang their heads in shame. It was clean and the staff were lovely. The location is prime. But the building is in a woeful state. Threadbare carpets; mould in bathroom; cracked plaster; chipped paintwork; tiny rooms; noisy air conditioning vents (though no air conditioning in the bedrooms). It is being left to rot. I wouldn't stay there again.

This has to be the worst hotel I ever been too. the staff are truly horrible it really is that bad I did not believe the many bad reviews on line as you get this with hotels but they are all true do not stay here many better hotels in Douglas and the Iom

On Arrival mid evening, following a flight from Edinburgh and no Taxis available at the airport we arrived by an excellent bus service and very helpful driver and passengers. We find to a totally unmanned reception.. Eventually we get someone from the dining room to book us in.Hardly a welcoming experience, basic allocation of room and directions to room. 247. This is further compounded by finding a sink in the bathroom that is badly cracked, probably to a state that it is unhygienic,. Hotels response on bringing this to their notice on return to Edinburgh, (heavy schedule did not permit pursue further at the time) is an apology and offer of a future discount. No chance of us returning to this hotel. They further said that having been brought to their notice it would be attended to. We were convinced that this was not recent damage and even if it were it would have been easily seen and reported by housekeeping staff. Room was otherwise ok but again some penny pinching or staff shortages resulted in room being only cleaned and made up twice in 7 nights. Best Western as a group of course wash there hands of any Involvement as there hotels are individual entities. Surely they have an onus to ensure hotels in there group meet minimum standards. This seems not. We will certainly avoid any such branded hotels in the future. If you are already booked and allocated Room 247 inspect it first.

I stayed in a ‘Sea View Double Room’ which I paid a little more for but definitely worth it for the views of Douglas Promenade. I also got a balcony too which was an added bonus. The room itself was a little tired and dated, still looks like the former Hilton Hotel that it used to be back in 2010. Still felt modern and stylish as well though. The corridors were very dated looking though, very green and dull looking. Breakfast was good and like the rooms the restaurant offers great sea views. The only thing I didn’t like was the leisure centre, I forgot to take a towel down with me and when I asked at the desk for one they wanted a £2 deposit for one basically incase I stole it. I didn’t have any cash on me unfortunately so then the lady said I could leave my phone, watch or driving license with them instead which I felt was a bit much for a towel especially in a 4 star hotel. Apart from this it was a pleasant relaxing stay

The hotel is very dated. Staff are unhelpful. Room didn't have enough enough space to swing a cat! No room for suitcases. Toilet flush was half broken. Shower either boiling or freezing, shower head loose. Food very average with not enough servers. Cramped conditions in buffet area. I do not recommend a stay here!
