Candlewood Suites Miami - Doral

Moldy rooms. Was place in the building across from the office. Mildew and urine smell upon entering. Buttons in elevator broken and it makes strange noises. Room is full of mold everywhere and has mildew smell. When housekeeper comes in they don't replace your towels, only refold the ones you've left on the floor. No other cleaning, even making the bed. Toilet and tub are permanently stained. Mold and rust in the closet. Leaks into room 420 in the closet and on stove wall when it rains. Renovations are supposedly taking place in the building with the office, but they won't let you have a renovated room, even for a titanium elite guest. Hotel also fails to offer any upgrades, late checkout, our honor other elite benefits.

RUN! I booked a night at this place through a Priceline Express Deal expecting a regular nice double queen room for 3 people at a quality Marriott hotel. Instead, we got a studio efficiency with a pull-out couch in the most run-down hotel I would classify as a 1 or 2 star rating that would fit right home in a downtown slum (it's actually in an area with a lot of warehouses). You could see the worn queen bed had the waffle foam cushion to make it softer, and there's no way my 6'5" son could fit on let alone sleep on the ancient and tiny pull out couch. The phone in the room also didn't work. We were going to leave and go elsewhere but they offered for $22 more to put us in a 2 bedroom. It was late, we were tired, so agreed. Obviously many families live at this "hotel", hallway carpets were ancient and worn and had trash etc left in them. The 2 bedroom was okay but furniture, bedding, carpet, mirroes, decor, walls, everything is old, worn and far from the Marriott quality I expect. At 8:30pm there was no hot water to take a shower. I didn't sleep well because I was afraid of bugs, etc, no air conditioning went into son's room. In the morning I tried to look out the windows but all 3 windows were covered in condensation and green mold. I'm also contacting Marriott about this place. DO NOT STAY HERE!

If you're here you're probably seeking out a budget place to stay and have been spooked out by the reviews so far. I liked the kitchen concept; microwave, toaster, fridge and freezer and stove as it allowed some flexibility in my meals. Breakfast is budget don't expect a full, sophisticated spread;but I was able to build something decent since I brought some stuff back to the room. I disliked the carpeted flooring, especially in the hallways, made it difficult to move my bags. Safety wise, there weren't any incidents but I did feel a bit spooked at times. I wouldn't come back alone. It is a dated budget hotel that can work if you just want somewhere to stay on a shopping trip.

I am loyal to certain brands and the Marriott brand generally meets my expectations. I’m beyond disappointed with my experience. My reservation was booked on the Marriott Bonvoy app (I’m a rewards member) at the last minute. I trusted the Marriott brand wouldn’t fail me. Let’s start with the smell, as soon as we opened the door to walk inside the hotel the hall smelled of urine, and funk, covered up with cleaning product and incense. Our room appeared clean however there was old dust balls throughout the rooms and the windows were so bad you couldn’t see outside. My family didn’t sleep in the beds, the furniture was stained and dirty, we were very uncomfortable. We laid towels down everywhere so we didn’t have touch the dirt hidden beneath. We had a very early AM flight time so we ****** it up. This has been of my worst Marriott experiences by far. I understand the hotel is about to go through renovations but the accommodations were way below standard for the Marriott brand/experience.

Staying at this hotel was the worst experience of my life. I couldn’t help but reflect on what mistakes I must have made to deserve such punishment. This property no longer meets the minimum standards expected of a Marriott, not even for a 2-star hotel. The place is dated and worn. It's unfortunate that it carries the Marriott name. Please consider removing the Marriott branding from this location.
