Hotel Club Dongwe

Today, 20/02/2025, it's also been in Terrible sound the ol day The sender has a complaint about the noise. We arrived at the hotel Dongwe club resort from 12-02-2025 from 14 days They did not inform us that there is a large construction going on in the neighborhood of the hotel . it is impossible to stay in a hotel , don't go. no one should be here because of the terrible construction noise from the neighboring area

As a Zanzibar Destination wedding planner i look for Accomodation and wedding venues for my client. The day i went to Dongwe i knew this is what i was looking for. The Jetty as the wedding venue with clear waters,the white sand by the beach,the coconut trees,the food was so tasty chef Salvatory was so good. He work with his team on ground. Julius and phesto from FNB the whole team were so good. Above all was the flexibility from the manager and accomodating us to ensire we had a beautiful wedding. I slept in a huge beautiful room the suit. I really can't thank you enough buy want to go back.i highly recommend

I chose this place because of the effusively positive reviews. However, our experience was not anything like what these reviews say. First, the room was dark and smelled of mold. We were first given a downstairs room that smelled of mold. We then asked to be moved upstairs, but that room smelled the same. Next, the food. We thought, based on it being Italian owned, that the food would be very special. It was just average — various pastas and not very good pizza. Breakfast was very basic. Even the coffee was not so great— not like the wonderful cappuccinos you get in the morning in Italy. On the positive side, the grounds were lovely. The pool was huge and beautiful. They have activities like snorkel trips and exercise classes. And the staff is lovely. But the beach is overrun with people who want to sell you things or braid your hair. They shout and chase after you in a fierce and desperate way. We stayed in another hotel on the same beach later that week, and they had a sign posted saying that this beach vendor activity is illegal in Tanzania and not to purchase from these vendors. And they had staff out there to make sure of it. So there the beach could be enjoyed. A huge difference!

My family enjoyed every part of the place. The pool, the jetty, the food. The rooms are big enough and clean. The staff is friendly and always made sure we had one table despite of being a bigger group of people than other guests. The Christmas Eve buffet dinner was amazing and the band. Would definitely recommend

The hotel has been appointed as a "BEST 4 STAR HOTEL IN AFRICAS 2024" and when you stay, you can understand why! I had amazing time here, best location, beautiful gardens, AMAZING pier, food is also excellent. I would suggest to try the excursions proposed from the Italian team (Mara and Daniele) and please do not trust beach boys, a couple booked something with them and they were scammed!!! I will surely come back to this Paradise!

Dongwe Club is a special place. The structure is totally in African style: the reception is open 24/7 and all the staff who works there is always available for any need or difficult situations. The food is excellent: in two special events the chefs work twice as hard: white party dinner by the pool and the African dinner (in which in addition to taste typical dishes, you also wear typical clothes, all the staff included). The jetty (pontile) is the strong point! A dinner at that magical place is a panacea for the soul! Last but not least: excursions. I completely relied on the excursionists who work in Dongwe! Even though I received tempting offers with reduced price, I believe that on these occasions it is better to rely on the guys present in Dongwe who did not let me miss of anything! Always there to help and they also went along with us on excursions and I can totally say that I definitely felt more safe! Excursions to do: Safari Blue and Safari in Tanzania (2 days and 1 night). I wrote very few things but I would have said a thousands things about Dongwe, but I definitely have to say one last thing: thank you manager Giorgio to make Dongwe such a beautiful place! I miss Zanzibar so much and I hope to get the chance to be back as soon as possible!
