Meiser Design Hotel

Das Hotel ist schon etwas Besonderes - Viel Design und am Anfang ist man etwas erschlagen, aber es sind viele Details, die man mit der Zeit entdeckt :-) Es war, wenn auch nur für 1 Nacht, fast wie Urlaub - auf der Terrasse einen Drink im Sonnenschein - morgens beim Frühstück Die Mitarbeiter*innen sind alle einfach gut und machen den Aufenthalt sehr angenehm. Die ruhige Lage (am Wochenende ist die Baustelle nebenan nicht spürbar) und trotzdem die Nähe zur tollen Stadt Dinkelbühl machen das Ganze rund.

Had the ‘pleasure’ of staying at this hotel for two nights. The good: The housekeeping staff were very polite and did a great job. Housekeeping were the only staff to acknowledge me or say hello or even seem pleased to see me in the slightest way. The bad: Extremely noisy room (207), right above the bins and the loading area for the kitchen. Constant noise, vehicles reversing, doors slamming, people talking so not much rest to be had. Be prepared for very early mornings - no problem if you have to get up very early but otherwise very problematic for noise sensitive people. The noise continued all day with vehicles constantly coming and going with engines idling for long periods of times, slamming doors and noisy hydraulics. Privacy is also an issue as there were tradespeople loitering at times, having cigarettes and conversations and could easily look into the room. Reception staff seemed a bit hapless during check-in and it seemed to take a long time. Poor room insulation - again, a lot of noise, slamming doors, voices from other rooms. Problematic if there’s a lot of activity on your floor. I could even hear people blowing their noses. Breakfast service: staff started helping themselves to food from the buffet around 15 minutes before closing time. I don’t have a problem with staff having the food, better than for it to go to waste of course but maybe wait until the guests have left? Food description labels were also removed very early. There is only one coffee machine and there were three staff waiting in line with hotel guests queueing up behind them! This definitely shouldn’t be happening. No parking other than an expensive garage opposite the hotel. Bit bizarre to be expected to pay for parking at a hotel in the middle of nowhere. Bar service was a bit slow, inattentive and sluggish. Facilities like the sauna were unavailable for some reason. The WiFi service was terrible, extremely slow and patchy in the room but as good as non existent in the public areas for some reason. Problems with hot water in the morning. Had to run the bathroom tap for about three minutes before the water started getting slightly warm. No problem with that in the afternoon though. Overall, I guess this place is ‘ok’ but there is room for a lot of improvement, especially given the steep rates they charge. More of a design failure hotel because who in their right mind would put huge bins and a loading bay or area right below guest rooms. The style reminds me of a south Asian wedding venue. Extremely tacky - lots of crushed velvet, garish colours and ‘interesting’ sculptures but this would be entirely down to one’s individual tastes and preferences.

I stayed there for business and a company event. The room was excellent with a balcony and air conditioning. All was new and modern and nothing to complain about. The food was good and breakfast buffet offers everything for every taste. The hotel lies a bit outside Dinkelsbühl, app. 800 m to get to the city center, so not too far. In contrast to all the historic building this is a contrast to major accomodation you find in Dinkelbühl. It is ultra modern. Parking is very easy there is a parking facility opposite the hotel. There are major constructions going on in the distance, but as the parking garage is between this, no trouble at all. The outside area is nice and the bar is very good and offers a vast range of cocktails. So this is a very modern hotel near one of the most prettiest medieval towns in Germany. Good for bigger group. And dogs are allowed.

Not everything looking great is great. Perfect looking bar, restaurant, lobby etc. But the food does not match the look and is below expectation. Better to walk downtown. Service in the bar is unprofessional and far from any quality you expect. Friendly yes; but being a customer you just want more. I.e, when ordering two teas staff must be reminded we ordered teas. And they bring one… I can go in. But in other words; make it your last choice. Not your first.

I can tell you that, unless you are really into old fashioned typical German style hotels, this is what you are looking for. Ten minutes walk To the center of the Village, where all the restaurants and bars are. Brand new, I think, very nicely decorated, huge parking in front, €8 a day. Efficient check in, in spite of the fact there was an event, really nice room with king bed, all amenities you need. Great shower too. Breakfast was amazing, very extensive, in a beautiful setting, where you also can have dinner or a drink in a great bar area at night. Also here, exceptional staff, really nothing else to wish for. Dont look any further ,

Very basic no frills hotel. over the top on the maximalist design in the public areas and the rooms are attractive but amenities are very lacking. No robes or slippers (a request to reception was met with a €5 per robe charge which is the first Ive ever encountered this!) no tea or coffee facilities, one very basic soap in the bathroom and an iron on request only. Basic Travelodge and Premier inn style properties offer more for half the price. Location is not convenient for the town centre. On a 3 week road trip this is so far the most disappointing hotel and sadly doesn’t live up to the branding or initial impression. I have no problem with no frills hotels but this is not marketed or priced as such. Can’t comment on the bar or restaurant facilities but based on the rooms I would imagine more style over substance
