Beautiful, comfortable, fabulous staff. The best stay we’ve had while traveling . Stunning views from our balcony. Can’t say enough . Breakfast was wonderful. Also helpful staff who are locals and able to give tips, directions and suggestions that you wouldn’t get from a web site . All around a great stay .

How in the world, as I write this, could the Methexis possibly be ranked so low among lodgings in Dimitsana? Thankfully, other sites like *********** are loaded with appropriately glowing reviews. The large rooms, solid furnishings, full-body showers and beautiful views are just some of the features that make this a wonderful place to stay — and a remarkable value. It would be a top choice in any community of any size. If you want to escape the tourist hordes and stay at a first-class hotel in an unspoiled medieval Greek village, this is an excellent option. We chose the Methexis as a relaxing antidote to three nights in bustling Athens; it is situated in a lovely village but close enough to access major attractions that include the Temple of Apollo at Bassae and the Mystras and Olympia Archaeological Sites. None of those drives are short, but the villages and scenery we passed along the way to and from Mystras were wonderful, and how else would you come across families returning their sheep herds for the evening? Certainly not on short drives on major roads. There are also some worthwhile attractions within a few miles of the hotel. This was a close as it comes to a perfect stay. Again I say, this is a remarkable value, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
