Vacation ❘ Family We recently stayed at Antique Regency in Digha, and while the hotel itself has potential, our overall experience was unfortunately marred by a serious incident and poor handling by the management. The Positives: The hotel property is well-maintained, and our stay was generally comfortable. The rooms were clean, and the amenities provided were up to the mark. The restaurant serves good-quality food—fresh and flavorful—but the pricing felt steep compared to other options in Digha. Additionally, the restaurant service was inconsistent, often slow and inattentive. The Major Issue: The real disappointment came when our brand new car was hit by another guest’s vehicle in the hotel parking area. The situation was brought to our attention by a few responsible guests who witnessed the accident. However, when we approached the hotel manager to look into the matter, his response was shockingly uncooperative. He initially refused to show us the CCTV footage, claiming confidently—without checking—that the accused guest hadn’t hit our car. Only after persistent requests from us and other guests did he finally allow us to view the footage, which clearly showed the other car causing the damage. To make matters worse, when we contacted the owner of the other vehicle, he was rude and hostile, showing no accountability. We wanted that vehicle owner to take accountability for the damage and we wanted his cooperation while we contact the car insurance company. But, throughout the ordeal, the manager continued to act dismissively, offering no real support or effort to mediate or take responsibility for ensuring guest safety on hotel premises. His behavior felt evasive and unprofessional, with unreasonable excuses that seemed more about protecting the hotel’s reputation than helping the victim. While the hotel infrastructure and stay quality are decent, the way management handles problems—especially serious ones—leaves a lot to be desired. A good hotel is not just about clean rooms and food but also about how it treats guests in times of trouble. Our experience was deeply upsetting, and unless there’s a significant change in how such issues are handled, we would not recommend this hotel to others. If this wasn’t our final experience we would have loved to go back when we visit Digha next time. Rooms5.0Service1.0Location4.0
