Garden of Sun Hotel

I don't understand the pattern of reviews on TripAdvisor as my son & I only spoke to one couple during our whole 10 night stay with anything positive to say about this hotel & their experience, no one else said they would ever return. It was disgusting! If you don't want to read my full review I will simply state that this is certainly NOT A 5 STAR RESORT as advertised. At most I would rate it a 2! Other than a beautiful swimming pool the whole place is dated, dirty, poorly maintained, falsely advertised & represented & extremely poorly managed. GO ELSEWHERE. There are far better places to stay closer to, or actually in Didim main beach area where there is plenty to do.

Absolutely beautiful hotel, each room in the hotel has different stone look calved pictures which are gorgeous and unique, reception staff are really friendly and welcoming even took our suitcase to one side for us to save us pulling it around as we arrived. The chefs are lovely friendly people and make beautiful food with a variety of choice every night, me and my partner have definitely gained some weight going back for more of the food. Although it is all inclusive to grab your own drinks etc staff always ask you if you’d like them to grab a drink for you and are very well mannered. When it’s really hot outside they do have the doors closed and a member of staff waiting at the door for anyone who may wish to leave or enter so there is ( Not ) flies or bugs entering the restaurant and each item of food presented has its own tongue, labeled and presented with such care. They have a bbq section outside the restaurant and the meat is absolutely gorgeous absolutely everything is dealt with care and passion, the snack bar is open hours after dinner and before tea serving food like beef,chicken and vegetable burgers with chips, pizza, garlic bread, pasta, salads etc and the drinks bar outside next to the pool has exceptional cocktails. The lager is lovely and cold, perfect for the heat outside and you have access to tea and coffee at all times which is brilliant and I love how often you see them clean the coffee machines too. Cleaners do a wonderful job, leave fresh water bottles for you to put in your fridge, fresh bedding, towels and toilet roll every day, sweep floors and wipe surfaces. Staff member named Charlie advised everyone on their first day that he is always there to help with anything and informs everyone of all the boat trips visiting local islands, buggy and quad hire etc, really well mannered and really helpful. Hotel Photographer took mine and my partners photos which we did end up buying because they’re were brilliant, one of the best photographers we’ve ever had take our photos they’re so clear and so focused definitely having them framed. Security always around which is great really friendly but always watching cameras and who’s entering the hotel which is what we need our safety and wellbeing is definitely put first. Entertainment staff Rico and Dodo wonderful people they are perfect at their job always including as many people as possible for darts or water polo etc they know how to have a laugh and make so much effort for each and every single person, really hoping they still work there when we go back again later this year they deserve a medal, really really friendly lovely people.

At this hotel now not enough staff to cope now it’s busier Restaurant is like a free for all never enough cutlery tables take forever to be cleared so no where to sit flies everywhere because of this Food is ok although never hot enough although there is a microwave on hand floors are sticky Just clear the tables on going instead of leaving everything it’s really getting on my nerves having to clear a table myself to sit and eat or have a drink Flies were a problem near food although they have started to cover it now Iv complained Toilets are not cleaned enough Pool area Pool man is fab and tries his best to keep clean They have rules no eating round the pool area but no one takes any notice and can’t be bothered to take to bins just leave it lying about no glass glasses but again people don’t care so when they smash kids could get cut baby nappies are worn instead of swim nappies so twice up to now pool had been closed but none us telling them Blooming sort it out or what’s the point of announcing these rules when you don’t stick to them I for one don’t want to be waiting for the pool to be cleaned on a very hot day because of someone’s kids pooped in it cause they can’t be bothered with swim nappy I won’t come back and it’s a shame cause it could be a nice hotel

Fantastic hotel! The food was delicious, activities were fun for all ages, and the staff and hosts were so warm, welcoming and attentive. Entertainment each night was brilliant—fun, engaging, and full of energy.

Avoid this hotel!!! Food was absolutely disgusting, covered in flies, hotel was out dated, with broken floors and ceilings and staff were so rude! Went here for a nice break away with my partner after reading all the good reviews and reading up about the hotel and its 5 star experience. Wish we hadn’t!! I wouldn’t even rate it above 2 stars. Food was always cold, the same thing was offered every lunch and dinner (despite the description saying they offer a wide range of cuisines) and most of it you couldn’t even eat as the flies or cats had beat you to it. The only time we were able to eat properly was if we left the hotel (which we highly recommend sky bar if you a looking for a nice restaurant/bar). The hotel staff were not helpful at all, couldn’t speak a word of english. When we first arrived at the hotel and checked in, we were left in reception with no description of where our room was or on what floor or any information of where anything was around the premises. We had to ask multiple members of staff to get somewhat of an answer. Not only this, but when we first got into our room there was no loo roll. It to 5 attempts and around 4 hours of going to reception and asking for some for the cleaner to finally bring some up to our room at around midnight. The hallways in the hotel were very uneven which is dangerous for children and the elderly, lights didn’t work and also carpets and walls were stained. The description states that the hotel has its own private beach, what they forget to mention is it’s atleast a 15 minute walk to get there across a main busy road and is also shared with the whole public, making it very busy. It also states a nightclub for after evening entertainment is available, never in my whole week of being there did i see or hear anyone mention of a nightclub, so please don’t be fooled. If you are an english family looking to visit i would highly recommend you avoiding at all costs. The hotel was absolutely packed full of Turkish families and staff who could not speak a word of english. Not to mention the constant turkish music blaring by the pool throughout the day. The food was very turkish, with beef casseroles, meatballs and plain rice only being offered. no traditional english cuisine in site (not even a fry up for breakfast) Despite everything, the only saving grace of this holiday was the entertainment team, particularly Ricco and Doodoo. You two made our week enjoyable, full of laughter and we are so glad we had met you both. You two are amazing at your job, especially with the zumba, darts and water aerobics, we miss you both lots! Overall we are sad that our first experience of turkey was ruined by this hotel. But we can say that we did enjoy our time in Didim and the time we spent outside this hotel.

Every morning at 10am you will be awoken to banging techno on full blast around the pool area. This goes on all day long. They play the same tunes in the same order. People take all the sunbeds by putting their towels on them at the crack of dawn. Food is poor. The hotel is clean and the staff friendly, but my overall stay with my wife and 2 kids was awful. Not a family hotel.
