Inn on the Shore

The room was clean and comfortable and the inclusive breakfast good but we feel very disappointed having paid £172.00 for a double room on a Monday in September which had no view whatsoever. As the hotel was situated on the beach we anticipated a sea view or at least some view

We were met with very friendly bar stagg and their customer service was impeccable. They should be commended. Gluten free menu very limited but I will say I didn't book the table and a heads up to yourself would have been better. I had the steak and chips woth peppercorn sauce and was very happy with the meal. It was followed by a gluten free chocolate brownie which took a while to come but was worth the wait All in all very pleased but would like to see more of a gluten free selection. Food great and the staff were just lovely.

Renovated, but very small and maintenance missing. Room Tregantle e.g. was humid after showering, because the ventilation did not work and paint is peeling off. Wifi is weak and with the Sky service complicated. TV access disturbed. Food: Burger were made from paddies . Main Salad was good, but without bread . Overall. Pirice-ratio to our other stay on this trip not satisfying. For hikers: breakfast starts only at 8.30 a.m. They offered breakfast to go. View and sitting outside is great and you can go direct for a swim.

Had much anticipated our room with 'stunning sea view', hadn't realised it would mostly be across a busy beer garden where everyone could see into our room unless we had the blind & curtains shut! The noise from below the window was so loud, even with all the windows closed, that we could hear every word being said. As it got later and the drinkers below (group of 9 people) got louder I called to ask what time drinks were served outside until (Sun night). I was told until 11pm, and when I said it was loud in the room, the staff member just said thank you sarcastically and put the phone down on me. A different staff member also didn't seem to care when raised at checkout next morning. Whilst the room itself was nice and the breakfast was good it was certainly not worth the cost we paid for a superior sea view room. From other reviews here it seems that we were unlucky with our allocated room but I wouldn't recommend anyway due to the service received and lack of interest in guest comfort.

We visited as a family of four. We'd pre booked in the restaurant but chose to eat outside once we arrived with bar service. We had burgers and a crispy beef chilli salad and puddings, brownie, cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding. The food and the friendly service from all staff was very pleasant . We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere on the decking overlooking the beach. The drinks were well chilled and service was very prompt. We'd definitely recommend this inn for a dining experience. Delicious. Bravo all.

What an absolutely amazing experience, highly recommend , we are staying here now and had the most amazing welcome , the staff and especially the Manager Mel has been truly outstanding, my husband had the steak pie with freshly prepared vegetables, was the best he had ever had ! I really enjoyed my succulent lamb pan fried with vegetables and the Cornish potatoes were so delicious. Mel makes you feel so welcome, so professional and a brilliant manager. The views are to die for like off a film set ! A quirky find ! And a fantastic place to explore the area . It’s under new ownership and I’m sure you will not be disappointed 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

I left here feeling completely ripped off! Its a shame as we used to be regulars here and called the other day. I ordered two pints of Morretti and a lemonade and lime for our driving family member. We were charged £3.45 for the lemonade and £1.10 for a splash of lime, YES £1.10 for the smallest splash. The Morretti was £6.20 a pint which is bad enough. What a complete rippoff. The lime cordial must be the most expensive drink in the place probably £200 a bottle if they charge £1.10 for a splash! The bar staff said the prices were set by the owners but they don't need to rip off there valued customers like this. No wonder some of these pubs are quiet these days and change hands every other year. £16.95 for two pints and a soft drink! Unfortunately we won't be visiting any more and we are local Stop ripping your customers off!

Walked along the beach from Seaton and decided to stop here for lunch. The friendly staff, great food and well kept beer meant that this was a good choice. Good portion sizes and reasonable prices If we visit the area again we will definitely be coming back.

Stayed here for a night away with my partner in January 2024. We met the young couple who have recently taken over and they are absolutely amazing. Made us feel welcome the entire time and was incredibly helpful with everything we needed. Our room looked out onto the beautiful sea adjacent to the pub. Gorgeous room with a sweet little bag full of useful goodies like toothbrush, shoe polish etc. The entire place looks recently refurbished it’s beautiful, everywhere was so clean, it was perfect. THE FOOD. Wow is was absolutely delicious, I had the chicken schnitzel , my partner had chicken wings and calamari rings, and it was all outstanding. Good selection of beers and spirits. There was a band playing the night we stayed, great music and a great atmosphere full of all different people. Beautiful outside and inside, can not fault this place, will definitely be back soon!!
