Le Morne Aux Fous

We had the "Cabane du Voyageur" for a week. The hut was new (although the other huts/appar**ents looked significantly older from outside), clean and also quite spacious, however quite dark inside due to the small windows. The highlight is of course the tropical garden in which the whole facility is set which makes it really enjoyable to just relax on the balcony. The only real downside was that there was no walkway/boardwalk along the street that goes into town and due to the serpentines I wouldn't recommend walking along there when it's dark.

Be aware that the photos on the website do not reflect the reality of this unit. The furniture has changed and there is no TV or pull out couch in the suite. The current “sofa” seats 2 people so I would not recommend this unit if you are more than 2 people.  On their website, Le Mourne aux Fous advertise La Frégate as luxurious. I was not expecting 5 star standard, but the unit is not luxurious at all. The bedroom is like a cave, small and dark. It connects the kitchenette and bathroom. The bathroom does not have a fan so all of the humidity and smells from the bathroom are trapped in the bathroom/bedroom. A small but annoying detail not is that there was no toilet paper holder. The wooden structure built to hang the mosquito net is made from untreated wood. The insects boring into this wood create piles of sawdust on the pillow and bed. It was handy to have a kitchenette, however there is zero bench space for food preparation and zero storage for food.  As mentioned in other reviews, it was strange to not meet the Owners, even though they live on site and especially because La Frégate joins their main house.  On our first day, we self checked-in and were sitting on the deck when the Owners arrived home.  They came outside and passed directly in front of us twice without acknowledging us or saying Hello.  The washing machine did not work well, clothes were still dripping wet so we ended up going to the laundromat in St Rose. The door did not lock when we arrived so we advised the Owner and it was fixed the next day. Wifi signal was strong. Overall, it was sufficient. Would not return. 

La nature est très présente et le grand bassin font régner une ambiance tropicale et apaisante. Très dépaysant. C est parfait pour se ressourcer. On est à proximité de manifiques balades, de cascades et des plus belles plages de la Guadeloupe

Un havre de paix dans cette végetation luxuriante. Très chouette séjour au Morne fous. Nous y retournons regulièrement pour profiter d'un séjour hors du temps en Basse Terre. La decoration des bungalows et peintures exterieurs sont très sympa.

Nous avons passé 1 semaine au Morne aux fous avec nos deux jeunes enfants. Tout s’est très bien passé avec Nicolas qui nous a super bien accueilli. Le cadre est magnifique et les logements très agréables. Surtout avec les enfants. Nous avons aussi vraiment aimé le village et les plages de Deshaies. Je recommande et je reviendrai avec plaisir.

C’est vraiment un endroit magnifique où il fait bon y vivre. L’endroit est frais, calme, sans moustiques (merci les carpes du bassin), fleuri (les oiseaux mouches adorent), bien situé et les logements propres et arrangés avec goût. On est des habitués 3 fois 1 semaine sur 6 ans , et on y reviendra, c’est sur.

Super accueil!! Bien avant de venir un super service et attention pour notre famille 🤩 Sur place un vrai bonheur, tout ce que l on souhaiter! Calme, bien situé près de la plage, le super jardin..le paradis pour nos enfants et nous mêmes! J adore cet endroit et nous avons déjà réservé pour l année qui arrive 🤩👌 Un grand merci à Nicolas qui nous a traité comme une vrai famille avec ces complexités!! A très bientôt 🥰

Nous avons adoré cet endroit très calme et authentique. La nature est splendide et le calme est total. Le confort aussi : grands lits, climatisation, cuisine bien équipée. La propriété est aussi très belle la nuit. Des vacances parfaites !

Jardin magnifique Mais gîte vétuste, tout est bricolé et en mauvais état. quel dommage car l´endroit aurait pu être charmant. nous venons une à deux fois par an en Guadeloupe depuis 15 ans, c´est notre première mauvaise expérience (beaucoup trop cher pour les prestations). seul point positif et je tiens à le préciser, le personnel d´entretien qui est au top et très sympathique.
