Le Morne Aux Fous

Be aware that the photos on the website do not reflect the reality of this unit. The furniture has changed and there is no TV or pull out couch in the suite. The current “sofa” seats 2 people so I would not recommend this unit if you are more than 2 people.  On their website, Le Mourne aux Fous advertise La Frégate as luxurious. I was not expecting 5 star standard, but the unit is not luxurious at all. The bedroom is like a cave, small and dark. It connects the kitchenette and bathroom. The bathroom does not have a fan so all of the humidity and smells from the bathroom are trapped in the bathroom/bedroom. A small but annoying detail not is that there was no toilet paper holder. The wooden structure built to hang the mosquito net is made from untreated wood. The insects boring into this wood create piles of sawdust on the pillow and bed. It was handy to have a kitchenette, however there is zero bench space for food preparation and zero storage for food.  As mentioned in other reviews, it was strange to not meet the Owners, even though they live on site and especially because La Frégate joins their main house.  On our first day, we self checked-in and were sitting on the deck when the Owners arrived home.  They came outside and passed directly in front of us twice without acknowledging us or saying Hello.  The washing machine did not work well, clothes were still dripping wet so we ended up going to the laundromat in St Rose. The door did not lock when we arrived so we advised the Owner and it was fixed the next day. Wifi signal was strong. Overall, it was sufficient. Would not return. 

2 semaines de pur bonheur dans ce petit paradis tropical. Endroit très bien tenu par des propriétaires chaleureux et disponibles. Excellent rapport qualité/prix. Idéal pour découvrir les merveilles de la Guadeloupe. Nous recommandons vivement !

Nous avons passé 2 semaines très agréable au Morne aux fous avec mes amis. Les nouveaux propriétaires Éric et Hélène sont très accueillants et disponibles. Sources de propositions ils nous ont permis de découvrir de magnifique lieu en Guadeloupe. Le logement était très propre et permet de passer de super bonnes vacances. Je recommande très fortement ce lieu dépaysant aussi bien par ses extérieurs que les animaux présents. Merci à eux 😁

Un accueil sympathique et aux petits soins. Merci à Éric pour ses précieux conseils. Quant au logement il est plein de charme niché dans un écrin de verdure. Vraiment top, je recommande les yeux fermés et reviendrai à l’occasion avec grand plaisir !

Un havre de paix dans cette végetation luxuriante. Très chouette séjour au Morne fous. Nous y retournons regulièrement pour profiter d'un séjour hors du temps en Basse Terre. La decoration des bungalows et peintures exterieurs sont très sympa.

Nous avons passé 1 semaine au Morne aux fous avec nos deux jeunes enfants. Tout s’est très bien passé avec Nicolas qui nous a super bien accueilli. Le cadre est magnifique et les logements très agréables. Surtout avec les enfants. Nous avons aussi vraiment aimé le village et les plages de Deshaies. Je recommande et je reviendrai avec plaisir.
