Derby Lodge

Can’t say enough about the hospitality of Derby Lodge! We had an issue with our camper and they couldn’t do enough to accommodate us. Location is secure, comfortable and welcoming, free washing machines. Amazing food and coffee was a bonus we weren’t expecting!

Derby cottages are amazing. Clean, comfortable and spacious and in a beautiful, quiet location. Claire was unbelievable in her attempts to accommodate us at short notice. She went above and beyond! Would absolutely recommend Derby cotttages to anyone.

Was able to check-in a bit early to put items in fridge, room was clean and comfortable, check in & check out process easy with friendly and accommodating staff & a fantastic restaurant at your doorstep, would recommend and stay again! Thank you

The staff at the Lodge are second to none! They were super helpful throughout our stay and they were so accommodating when we unexpectedly needed to stay longer. They even searched the hotel grounds for me when I thought I’d lost my car key - after I’d checked out and had left town! Thank you Karla (and all the staff) you are the best!

The Derby lodge is like an oasis, where nothing is too much trouble, it has clean and well-appointed rooms and the Lodge is safe and secure, NEAPS Bistro is a taste sensation with great range of meals whether it was breakfast or dinner, and the staff were fabulous. The new manager, she is exceptional, with an eye for detail and was helpful, courteous and always willing to help. (I applogise as do not remember name and she introduced herself to me!!)

Accommodation was 2.5 kms out of town in remote area which was scary given at the time crime levels were reported to be alarming in Derby. This "fly in fly out" accommodation was not suitable for high rate paying tourists. The place was filthy with brown stains in toilet, old cobwebs that were full of dust so hadn.t been cleaned for years, chipped dining tables, broken towel rails, covers off heating element and cracked tiles in bathroom etc. This poor cleaning was in the face of high Covid case numbers in Derby We froze during the night as there were no blankets supplied and nothing in cupboards. Reception was not manned when we returned from remote accommodation at 6.15 pm to eat or in the morning when we checked out at 8.15 am. I immediately complained next morning via email to our booking agent BKB Holidays for a refund. Both travel agent and motel owner took no ownership for our disgusting accommodation and refused to offer a refund.. I would never use either of these entities to book a holiday again.
