Berg Hotel

Stayed at the hotel the evening before my wedding with my maid of honour then the next night with my husband. It was wonderful. Perfect location. I was collected by boat on my wedding day. The family who own the hotel were wonderful. Have to also mention the breakfasts...Best I have ever had in Turkey. Thank you all at the hotel.

I stayed for 4 nights this September in a lovely poolside room. The hotel is fantastic Amazing buffet breakfast with so much choice all beautifully prepared and with gorgeous views Ultra clean room with fluffy white towels They do a brilliant pre booked evening meal which I had twice as I was travelling on my own . Fab home cooked mezze and fresh fish The staff were all lovely and so helpful The owners were so kind and gave me a lift to my yoga retreat near dalyan

Lovely family run hotel with river side dining and a perfect view of the Lycian tombs. An easy ten minute walk to the town centre. Both owners speak English and are very hospitable and accommodating (late check-out no problem). Rooms are cozy and well equipped + a private balcony for each room. The halls are decorated with paintings and carvings collected from around the world by the well travelled owners. Breakfast was sumptuous and dinner was excellent. Small clean swimming pool good for a refreshing dip after a day’s activities. Free wi-fi available throughout the site.

Stayed with husband and daughter in 2 bed suite for 3 days. Hotel has plus points - spotlessly clean, good rooms, great bathroom. Location is great. Breakfast ok. Room was quiet. However the decor is tacky, unusual and not very Turkish, felt could be anywhere in the world really. Seval on reception was lovely and helpful. We had a weird interaction with the owner’s husband Servet who when we arrived asked if we wanted to book a boat trip, which we agreed to. However on the day we were exhausted and decided to cancel. No problem we were told by Seval. Later that evening we were sitting on the platform having a drink when Servet came and sat down with us. We thought he was going to chat and ask us how we were enjoying our trip but no all he said was “So you’re not going on the boat trip”, we said we’d decided not to (for reasons I didn’t really want to go into with him to be honest) then he just sat there. He only spoke when we asked him questions. He certainly enjoyed talking about himself. Then he sat there for another 10 minutes. It was all very awkward. We are very undemanding guests, but really felt he had taken some kind of dislike to us for not taking the boat trip. Small hotels rely on the kindness of their hosts and I got the feeling Servet had had enough of hosting and maybe it’s time to hand the reins over to someone who genuinely cares about the guests. Others seem to love this place so maybe we are missing something but we would not stay again sadly.

We have just come back from 8 nights at the Berg. We normally stay at the Arp (their sister hotel managed by the owner's son) but they didn't have the same room available for the whole duration. First of all the location is absolutely perfect, just in front of the tombs on the river. The view at breakfast is probably the best in Dalyan. In a quiet area only a few minutes walk to the restaurants and bars. The rooms are immaculate and cleaned everyday (with towels changed everyday too). We had a suite as it was three of us and it was very spacious. Our daughter's sofabed was as comfy as our king bed! We had our own balcony. No views unfortunately but none of the rooms have river views. This is fine as we were hardly in the room. We had a fridge which was great for stocking up on extra water (we did get free small bottles of water everyday) and other drinks. The pool area is small, we were out exploring most days but when we did relax at the pool we never struggled to get a sunbed. They have a wonderful shaded decking area on top of the restaurant, I can't imagine a better place to read a book and watch the boats go past under the tombs. Breakfast is good, it's a Turkish breakfast but they will make fried eggs or an omelette for you. From 16.00 afternoon tea and homemade cakes are availble. On our last day we had a taxi picking us up at 17.00 but checked out at 11.00 and left our bags at reception. We were planning to go last minute shopping and have a long lunch. When Vildan the owner realised she let us keep our room until we left which was really handy for a quick shower before the airport. They do have a shower room available for changing if we hadn't been able to keep the room. Thank you Vildan and Seval for your warm hospitality, everyone has been so friendly! We are already planning to come back next year and will not stay anywhere else.

The Berg is a fantastic hotel situated on the dalyan River, waterfront views, lovely terrace. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Lovely pool, beautiful grounds. Food is wonderful, afternoon tea is served complimentary with delicious cakes. All the staff are very welcoming and helpful. We have fallen in love with the hotel and all our future visits will definitely be here
