The room smells there is a air freshner plugged in that i think is hiding the smell of damp. this room looks like it has not been decorated for decades. there is peeling wallpaper, dead insects, mouldy tiles, stained carpet, dirty bathroom floor - they have not cleaned the room today floor still dirty. It would be lovely if they ever cleaned the windows. Driving out the morning you could see large stains on another rooms curtains. The swimmimg pool area has thick dust inside the changing lockers, black mould on the wall and some sort of dust or mould in all the vents above the pool. To say that this place needs deep cleaning is an understatement. Was pink carpet the 70s, 80s or 90s ?. I find some of the other reviews unbelievable. Neither of the two bottles in the shower work. It is all a bit yukky, The photo of mould on the tiles shows the mould when you click on it it is really obvious when you are in the bathroom. N

The hotel has been beautifully renovated to restore its period features, has a very impressive pool and gym, the staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful and the food in the restaurant was excellent although service a little slow. Great location and its plain to see the management are gradually restoring the grounds to their former glory.

Everything at this hotel is excellent, the staff, the service, the room, the spa and the food. The grounds and gardens are lovely, really enjoyed our time there. The swimming pool and spa is very relaxing, the food both breakfast and evening meal were very good. We stayed for 2 nights mid June and had the four poster room on first floor.

Lovely, comfy hotel set in beautiful grounds. The Spa was excellent and it's great to find a hotel that DOESN'T allow little kids into the pool area, this made it so peaceful and we could do some serious swimming in the wonderful pool :) Our room was great - ground floor with private patio area, nice and quiet. Plenty of parking. The Restaurant had a very limited menu which didn't change at all (we had 4 nights there). A lot on the menu didn't suit us as it is very Curry & Garlic based! No local Welsh Lamb at all which was a great disappointment :( No De-caf coffee available in the bar area. No dairy free/sugar free items avalable at breakfast - good job I took my own!

Lovely hotel ,super location, especially if en route to ferry in Holyhead! Very comfortable, spotless room. We had an excellent dinner, so tasty 3 Pigs (I know 😏) gardens look gorgeous, to wet to wander far! Breakfast £10 each was a treat, plenty of choice, plus freshly cooked full breakfast The staf are a delight, friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel.

We arrived on 7th June 2024 and we stayed for 2 nights , The staff where very nice and polite . We stayed in the 4 poster bed on the ground floor the room needs updating and theBathroom . I did not shower as I found it difficult to stand in the bath tub with my health condition . Would have preferred a walk in shower and in general the bathroom was grubby and needed a good clean . The menu was okay but we found it to be very expensive and drinks where overpriced . When we arrived their was no bottled water in the room and we had paid £ 498.00 ) for 2 nights . So you would have thought there would be welcome basket in the room . Also we where near to kitchen so there was constant noise and banging of doors . I feel at present I would give it rating of 3 stars .

Lovely hotel with beautiful grounds to walk round with statues dotted about and a walled kitchen garden . The room was large as was the bathroom and the four poster bed was a nice surprise, it did have a couple of bits that needed looking at, but that in no way took away from the trip . We used the spa for the afternoon and enjoyed the steam room , sauna , jacuzzi and pool , all really clean . The menu although limited was very well executed, the tarragon chicken was fab ! Breakfast was exceptional although a little background music would be good as the diners were very quiet . All the staff were really chatty and polite, nothing was too much trouble .All in all a great night away for the price we paid £102 through booking . Com.

The staff are very nice. This is a family run hotel, and they’ve not been doing it long. It showed. The rooms were dated, the beds were…. Fine. The bathrooms were not up to a modern standard…All in all, NOT a four star hotel. Now, for the really bad thing- the hotel is not up to fire code. During our stay, there was a fire in the laundry room which was in the back extension area. The alarms went off, and a young man from the staff (owners son?) told us to go back to our rooms!!! ***??? We obviously ignored him, and emptied out of the about ten guest rooms of the second floor and followed the fire exit signs…to the locked front doors! Thank goodness the fire was contained, since it took the young man about ten minutes to unlock the doors. UNACCEPTABLE! When confronted (by another guest) about how unsafe this was he began to argue that that’s how they do it. It was surreal. We spent about three of the wee hours of the morning milling about. They did open the bar, so points for that, but still - you should not go to this hotel until the needed updates are done and the fire doors open out and are unlocked. The next day we checked out and left. No refund, no offer for a free day later, just “sorry about the alarm last night”.
