Sandals Royal Curacao

Fantastic resort, great food and friendly staff. Safe to go off resort and visit town. This was our first visit to curaçao. Our only issues were, 1) Club staff were poorly prepared for the “parties “ they hosted, we were served the main course before the appetizers at the sushi restaurant and it took almost an hour to get our food at the steak restaurant. All minor things, but not in tune with the usual Sandals experience. I would recommend for anyone to visit Sandals Curaçao for a great Caribbean vacation.

The resort is very laid back and feels safe. Located behind gated entrance at the golf course, feel spoiled. The cove beach was fun and had floats. I did snorkeling there since the waters were too rough for me around the bend. There is not a beach facing the ocean that you can swim in since the rocks and tide are rough. The resort itself was top notch one of my top places I would return to. The excursion into town was perfect and you also have a rental car service you can drive yourself around the island. The staff was super fun and friendly and never felt ignored or pressured.

It is safe to say that we are returning customers to the Sandals Brand because the one thing that sets this resort apart from any other All Inclusive resort is the attention of the staff and the details that go long way. Unfortunately, this resort fell short in that aspect. We have visited MoBay and St Lucia Grande and the service was far superior in those. The infrastructure and location of the resort was top notch! My complain about the service is about simple things like when we asked to get our bar restocked and after 2 calls to the concierge, we never did that day. The second time, it took them about 2 hours to get me some beers. Except for Butch’s and Vincent, the service at the restaurants was slow. At the pool bars, saw multiple bartenders just standing around avoiding eye contact while only 3 bartenders were attending a full bar. One of the staff member around the pool area seemed high almost every day. One of the server at Gatsu Gatsu did not know what a Blonde beer was when I asked for one. She said she didn’t have it at the resort, but i had been drinking it every day and at that same restaurant the day before. I went to order 3 pizzas to go at Pietras for the group I was with at the pool and was told to come back in 30 minutes and that I was the first one in line so should be quick. When I came back, saw a butler leaving with 5 boxes of pizza and mine had not even been started so 30mins became 1hr. I understand butlers have preference but the second lady lied when saying that there were orders before mine. During our anniversary day, absolutely nothing was done to our room or acknowledgement of such. While at MoBay, we got a bottle of champagne, letter and the bed was decorated with flowers and towel swan. In St Lucia Grande, we got the same. While at Curaçao, not even the towel swans as decoration. While at the lobby overlooking down a show, a server approached us and asked us if we wanted some drinks. My wife and I were surprised as we have not seen that kind of service at the lobby the days before. When the server came back with the drinks, immediately gave us a QR code and asked us if we could please leave a 5-stat Review and to mention her by name. She literally stood behind us watching us as we typed the review and fell awkward. It was obvious that she was just fishing for good reviews with offering drinks. We did have some great interactions with some of the staff like our scuba instructor, Soniel. The host at Gatsu Gatsu and others. The golf course is a MUST. It is not part of the resort but you do get a discount. Overall, it is a beautiful resort, probably the most beautiful one of them all, but the staff doesn’t reflect the “Sandals” way we have experienced before.

The retro live show was amazing!!! Really enjoyed watching the aerialist and the incredible vocalists, Dennilee and Dylan. Best show on the resort

We have a fabulous stay at the end of March into April. Since I'm planning our next visit, I realized the need to give Joanne at the dive shop some recognition. She is attentive, kind and helpful and wonderful to interact with. In fact, one day I took my wife down to visit the shop and she made certain her co-worker answered the phone in the correct manner and I was so impressed with her training and professionalism. As we browsed the shop, I overheard her mention to another co-worker how important it would be to schedule a dive team bowling night in the near future! Between Corwyn and his incredible diving instruction, Rowdy as well, and Joanne at the helm in the office I cannot give them enough credit for ensuring it was a memorable trip! Cannot wait to go back!

Overrated. Simply put. Paid up to get a butler room, which was of minimal value outside of reserving some pool chairs. Don't let them lie to you, the resort isn't that busy, they're rotating which restaurants they were shutting down due to lack of capacity. There is island time and whatever we experienced which was just awful. Food took forever, drinks took forever and the butlers we had were incredibly lazy when compared to others with similar rooms. No need to tell the restaurant what temperature you want your food, it's coming out well well well done regardless. Multiple nights we'd not received our main dish while others sat at the same time were leaving. Room service breakfast was only correct 1 day out of 5. There is no real beach at the resort, just a very small area at the far end. The only reason to go here is you love a pool and want to drink watered down drinks all day. My favorite part of the trip was a hair cut. They had someone cut my hair who was not the barber and the shaved the side of my head instead of trimming it. It set off a series of issues that required them to call in the "real barber" who was offsite and does all of their wedding stuff. In their haste to make it better, they'd constantly refer to my GIRLFRIEND and I as Mr. and Mrs, including an entire dinner table displayed with that. No clue why the staff felt the need to continually refer to us as that and then when politely told we weren't married, being given a speech about what is wrong with me. Hotel was aware of all of this, everyday was something significant and yet not a single thing done. Follow up responses to Sandals produced nothing. For the price, countless other things you can do with your travel dollars that yield a much better return Check the picture out of my shaved head that was supposed to be a trim. That was the first pass with no guard, at that point, the rest had to go.
