Sandals Royal Curacao

Overrated. Simply put. Paid up to get a butler room, which was of minimal value outside of reserving some pool chairs. Don't let them lie to you, the resort isn't that busy, they're rotating which restaurants they were shutting down due to lack of capacity. There is island time and whatever we experienced which was just awful. Food took forever, drinks took forever and the butlers we had were incredibly lazy when compared to others with similar rooms. No need to tell the restaurant what temperature you want your food, it's coming out well well well done regardless. Multiple nights we'd not received our main dish while others sat at the same time were leaving. Room service breakfast was only correct 1 day out of 5. There is no real beach at the resort, just a very small area at the far end. The only reason to go here is you love a pool and want to drink watered down drinks all day. My favorite part of the trip was a hair cut. They had someone cut my hair who was not the barber and the shaved the side of my head instead of trimming it. It set off a series of issues that required them to call in the "real barber" who was offsite and does all of their wedding stuff. In their haste to make it better, they'd constantly refer to my GIRLFRIEND and I as Mr. and Mrs, including an entire dinner table displayed with that. No clue why the staff felt the need to continually refer to us as that and then when politely told we weren't married, being given a speech about what is wrong with me. Hotel was aware of all of this, everyday was something significant and yet not a single thing done. Follow up responses to Sandals produced nothing. For the price, countless other things you can do with your travel dollars that yield a much better return Check the picture out of my shaved head that was supposed to be a trim. That was the first pass with no guard, at that point, the rest had to go.

Amazing experience! Staff is awesome. Pool and grounds are beautiful. Best time. We have been to other Sandals and this might be our favorite. Special shout out to the best butlers Steve, Nigel and Galleon! Galleon’s smile, good nature and warmth made our trip. The head chef came to our room the first day because my wife has special dietary concerns. To Our room to discuss with her! Almost unheard of. Michaelangelo who was great did too along with Steve and made sure my wife really enjoyed and had special food. So nice! Big and huge thumbs up! Sad to leave.

Just got back from our honeymoon at Sandals Royal Curaçao and wanted to share an honest review in case it helps anyone planning a trip. We really loved the size of the resort. It was super walkable and easy to get around without feeling overwhelming. We stayed in Room 2258, Subi Club Level Walkout, and the location was perfect. It was only a couple minutes from Aolos and the food trucks, and we didn’t hear any noise at night from the main lobby. The food was great. Vincent and Aolos were our favourites, and the pizza at Pietra was a nice addition for a quick and casual option. The bartenders and entertainment staff were all amazing. The main pool had such a fun vibe, and we were usually able to grab chairs at the smaller pool beside it each morning. My husband would head down around 7:30 or 8, we’d have breakfast, then relax by the pool for the day. Now for a few things we didn’t love. The cabanas by the main pool are not available to rent and are only for butler guests. That was a bit disappointing. We also had an issue with the pillows in our room. They had a really strong odor, almost like cat urine, and unfortunately that was an issue most nights of our stay. While the restaurant and bar service was excellent, we did have to ask multiple times for basic items like soda water, ginger ale, toilet paper, and prosecco. I left a note for housekeeping and also used the GINA app as instructed, but we still had to follow up more than once to get things. To be honest, I didn’t find much value in Club Level. If you’re deciding between Club and a standard room, I’d probably go with the standard. The room service menu is really small, and since you can get takeout from any of the restaurants, the only real benefit was the air-conditioned lounge at check-in and check-out. The butler rooms clearly come with more perks, which makes sense, but if you’re not booking one of those, just know that Club Level doesn’t add much. We did have a lovely time overall and made some great memories. That said, I don’t think we’ll return to this particular resort or the Sandals brand in general. We’ve stayed at other adult-only five-star resorts that felt similar in quality without the higher price tag. Hope this helps someone else make the most of their stay. You’ll definitely have a great trip, especially if you go in with the right expectations.

The entire staff was great but I especially want to recognize a couple specifically. We were there last week and I lost my wedding ring. Andre and Ruengelo both went to great lengths to find it and they found it at the bottom of the pool. Great job guys and thank you very much!

Overall the resort is very nice. There were a couple of things that took away from the experience. First was an overabundance of gnats. They were all over the property all the time. The second was the areas around all of the pools are very slippery. They use tile which becomes very slippery when wet. We observe the lady fall that wasn't even at the pool but close to them.

1st time here and far exceeded our expectations. ONE huge issue. Can the servers stop asking to take our dinner order moments after we sit down??? At the Italian restaurant (great food) we were asked to order before our drink order was taken. We explained we wanted to enjoy a glass of wine and conversation b4 we ordered our dinners. 2 minutes later a different person asked us to order. We again explained we wanted to enjoy our drinks and to give us ten minutes. There were plenty of empty tables and reservations not accepted. Two minutes later a third server asked to take our order. Finally frustrated we ordered. The same experience the night before at the Asian restaurant 3 times in 5 minutes. Our server asked if we were ready to order when we said. Give us a few minutes. She walked away annoyed finally. on the fourth time she came over.when we were seated less than 10 minutes, we felt pressured to order which we did. We have 3 more nights here. I am hoping to that servers realize not everyone wants to order moments after they sit down. It may not sound like a big deal, but it is to us. We weren't asking to wait a half hour or s moreb efore we ordered just asking the servers to give us fifteen minutes or so. That little bit of time. We'll go a huge way and making our dining experience far more enjoyable, other than that. Do not hesitate to come here..
