It was such a nice place to stay. It was in the center and the people there was so nice, always helping.

Muy buena ubicación en cuanto a distancia al centro pero si buscas tranquilidad no es el lugar, está lleno de bares. En un sábado noche no puedes dormir hasta la 3am ya que tiene una discoteca pegada. El wifi no llega bien a las habitaciones. Si te levantas tarde te quedas sin agua caliente para la ducha y puede hacer bastante frío por las mañanas.

The vibe is truly unique, and there is enough to explore inside and outside of the property. You can enjoy a wonderful meal on the outside roof terrace, and you are within a minutes' walk of the city centre. I would definitely come here again when visiting Cuenca!

Overall, this was a really great, affordable, and centrally located hostel. However, there were a few downsides. To start with the pros, the location of this hostel is excellent. It is walking distance to the main Plaza De San Francisco, and on a centrally located Main Street. The location is very safe, and I never felt unsafe despite traveling solo. There are also many wonderful facilities, like yoga, breakfast, great wifi, a coworking space, and a masseuse that they can bring in. The wifi was fast and worked throughout the hostel without a hitch. The main con of this hostel is that it is extremely loud on the weekends. Expect to hear loud club music from around 9:30pm-4:00am on the weekends. Luckily I had noise cancelling headphones, but even with that it was difficult to sleep. So if you like partying and don’t mind club music with loud bass clearly in your room late at night, then staying here on the weekends might be for you. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this hotel only for weeknight stays, because it was difficult to sleep with the noise. The showers also didn’t seem to get hot water. Other than that, it’s a really nice hostel, and all of the pros outweighed the cons for me.

I've been in Cuenca around 10 times already and been to at least 8 different hotels and airbns, but Selina Cuenca is just perfect. The location of the hotel is the best, you are two steps away from cuenca old town, in front of the river, you cross the river through the multiple bridges and bam you are in the downtown cuenca. The hotel is beautiful, rooms, terrace, everything.

Das Selina Hostel ist eine Mischung aus cooler Jugendherberge und vom Style her a la 25hours Hotelkette, falls das ein Begriff ist. Kurz und knapp: es ist angesagt und hipp. Man muss aber erwähnen, dass wir für uns und unsere Kinder jeweils 2 Suiten gebucht hatten mit Blick auf die Stadt. Die Suiten waren im vintage style eingerichtet, das hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Die anderen Zimmer sind teilweise ohne Fenster nach außen und mit geteiltem Bad, dafür aber sehr günstig. Das Frühstück ist okay. Falls viele Leute zur gleichen Zeit frühstücken, müssen die Gäste draußen auf der Terasse sitzen, das kann recht kühl sein. Cuenca an sich wirklich schön aber die Verkehrsführung ist einfach nur grausam und macht den Charme der schönen Stadt leider etwas kaputt. Man muss Angst haben, wenn man auf den sehr schmalen Gehsteigen spaziert, dass man vom Bus angefahren wird. Der Geruch der Abgase stört ebenfalls.
