Sydney House

We enjoyed four nights at Sydney House in Cromarty. Shirley and Alasdair made us feel very welcome and were on hand with helpful advice and recommendations - not only for things to do in Cromarty (fell in love with Cromarty and the Black Isle!) but further afield too. The self-contained flat had everything we could wish for and felt very much like a home away from home. We appreciated that all the appliances were in tip top condition and quiet and that we didn’t have to go out and shop for essentials(dishwasher tablets, laundry powder or tea bags/coffee). We also appreciated a very generous breakfast basket which included delicious homemade marmalade! We also very much enjoyed spending time in Shirley and Alasdair’s gorgeous stone walled garden. It’s truly a labour of love and we were fortunate to be visiting at a time when the weather was perfect and so were able to enjoy sitting in the sun admiring the roses and perfectly manicured lawn! We never did solve the mystery as to who does the lion’s share of the gardening…! We had a lovely time in Cromarty and we can’t thank Shirley and Alasdair enough for going that extra mile to ensure we enjoyed our stay.
