Labranda Bahía de Lobos

Excellent New Year break at the Labranda. Older lot were off Kite surfing. The hotel is based in an excellent location. There is an entertainment pool and a quiet pool which works really well. Food is varied each day and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. The reception was very helpful. The gym is well equipped and accessible. You can walk to the town and the port in 10 Mins and behind a 5 mile trek around a volcano which leads to a chain of volcanos of you want to go further.

Bahia de Lobos is situated just off the far end of the strip near the Las Palmeras shopping centre. It takes approximately 15 minutes to walk to the harbour with numerous shops, bars and restaurants along the way, and about the same to the nearest beach. There is a local bus stop about 5 minutes away. All walks are along flat terrain. The reception is to the right of the entrance which opens up into a large lobby area with a fountain and plenty of seating. The information boards of the various tour companies can be found here along with free coffee machine. On checking in, you are given a map showing the layout of the hotel. The reception is manned 24 hours – any questions and they will help out. After exiting the lobby, the main pool is to your right and the restaurants and entertainment area to your left. A second (quiet) pool is further away tucked amongst the accommodation. Both pools have plentiful sunbeds which are extremely comfortable. The pool bar is situated next to the main pool. Unfortunately, there is no bar next to the quiet pool – maybe that’s why it is quiet! The grounds are very clean and tidy with some interesting cacti and succulents in the gardens which are well maintained. The accommodation is in low rise blocks which blend in well with the surroundings. Our room was next to the quiet pool. It was very clean, spacious with fridge, safe and air conditioning. There was a large screen TV and a very comfortable sofa. The bathroom had a large walk-in shower. The patio contained a table and two chairs with a view to one of the volcanic craters in the distance. It was very quiet with no disturbance. Breakfast was served in the Lobos Beach Restaurant next to the main pool. Evening meals were in the Botanic Restaurant down a flight of stairs next to the entertainment complex. If you have mobility issues or a pushchair to carry there is a lift you can use – it is tucked away on the opposite side of the terrace. It could do with better signage – if you can’t find it ask a member of staff. Food is buffet style and of very good quality. You would be hard pushed not to find something to satisfy you. Evening entertainment is in Faro’s Club where the main bar is located. We found the entertainment good with singers, a magician, and karaoke. There is also a daytime program if you wish to stay on the complex. In summary, this is a very good hotel which is kept very clean and tidy. We found the staff friendly and engaging. We would have no hesitation in returning here.

Fantastic complex, very spacious room, pools were brilliant, pool bar, food was amazing, staff were fantastic, coffee machines in the foyer and you just helped yourself, shopping strip just on the doorstep. Defo going back for longer. A******

My husband & I had a very pleasant week stay. Our only complaints were the WiFi was really poor to connect to & very slow if we were able to join the WiFi. Check in was also slightly disappointing due to only having 1 member of staff on the desk. At other times when we walked through reception there had been 2, sometimes 3 staff members available. The hotel was very well cleaned & all staff were very happy, smiley & approachable. Food & drink variety was on par. Plenty of shops within walking distance. Lots of people review the hotel, not many people comment on the weather. We found the weather warm with cloudy & sunny days as a mixture. Evenings were pleasant & we didn’t need trousers or a cardy/jacket. I’m only writing that comment because if you’re like me, you’d like to pack in preparation. I know the hotel can’t control the weather . Thank you to all the staff that worked tirelessly every day & for maintaining a very high standard.

We had a lovely holiday at Bahia de Lobos hotel. We had a deluxe poolside room for 3 of us, 78 Yr old, 13 and 50 Yr old. Spacious and clean. Kettle with tea and coffee. Hairdryer, towels, shampoo and hand wash supplied. Rooms cleaned each day. Plenty of food and a good variety. Halloween themed food too! Pool area and gardens maintained daily. Helpful, friendly staff. Evening and poolside entertainment suitable for all ages. Ideal location just off the main shopping street, near the Waterpark and beach/harbour. Would definitely recommend and return.

No way near 4 star, and this is not just my opinion many other families I spoke with had similar experiences whilst I was there. We just returned home and couldn’t wait it was that bad… Arrived and rooms weren’t ready had to wait 3 hours with children in hot temperatures. Poor condition of rooms, Wi-Fi is rubbish everywhere, food is barely edible, no air con in reception and is so hot there you cannot stay and relax to use the Wi-Fi. Air con not working in room, many sun bed wars during stay, you have to get up early to reserve beds otherwise you won’t get one, hotel does nothing about this, broken parasols everywhere, not one which isn’t broken and there not enough of them, also a lot of sun beds broken too. This is a cheap and nasty hotel and would not recommend to anybody. Most of the staff are quite miserable, we heard rumours before coming home that this Hotel chain was going bust, which would explain a great deal as the charges for drinks and upgrade packages are a joke. I could go on and on, but so glad I’m back home, first time ever after taking a holiday abroad, book this hotel at your peril. Have complained to our tour operator and are awaiting a response.
